minitata's Journal, 29 Apr 17

We went out yesterday as planned. Luckily I had something to eat before we went as by the time Tony had looked at the castle in Farnham - which took an hour and a half to get to - and then at a couple of churches the pubs had stopped serving lunch. So we bimbled around Surrey for another hour and then came home without touching motorways. In all I did about 4.5 hours driving and other than 5 minutes to go into a pub and find out they'd finished serving food, I didn't get out of the car. Driving is my favorite way to relax though. We went through Kent, Surrey, West Sussex, Hampshire, and East Sussex and back into Kent.

So we didn't eat until we got home, which meant I had to take co-codamol instead of tramadol while we were of, and when we got home instead of not bothering to eat, I overate. I even decided to have a shortbread biscuit - 10 biscuits (a full packet) later - I went to bed. Honestly I don't need anyone to sabotage me, I do it well enough for myself. Ah well back to fasting, and feeling rough today.

you were probably overly tired too. I have been carrying those beef and cheese sticks in my purse for the unexpected times I cannot eat when I get hungry. Life happens though and there will always be bumps in the road but as long as you get right back on the path you will still reach your destination! don't beat yourself up! *hugs*

This is real life. These things happen. Every day is a new day and you're doing so well. Keep pushing forwards. 👍👍

I agree with all the others, life happens. We learn from it. But as a hypoglycemic and then a diabetic and now a brittle diabetic, I've learned to pack a protein bar in my purse in a hard eyeglass case. People on here scoff at them, but they've saved me from overeating many times when I'm out and hungry. Just a bite or two every little bit sometimes keeps me level. And I bring fluids as well. I pack my arsenal every time I leave my house! 😁
