Windlepoones's Journal, 22 Oct 16

I went a little over my calorie target to-day, but broke the bank on my carbohydrate allowance. I don’t think I should worry too much, because I had a very active day.

I started the day by moving my toys off the driveway, then sweeping it of fallen leaves. I normally use a leaf blower for the job, but thought as it was a relatively windless day the exercise with a MK1 broom would be more beneficial to me in burning calories.

Job done it was time for a cuppa. I felt I was flagging a bit and nibbley as well. Doobrie recommended Liv Life bread to me for the low carb count of each slice. After munching on a cheese and pickle sandwich while slurping down the tea I felt supercharged. So in true Duracell bunny fashion I set about taking the covers off of the patio furniture. MK1 broom to the fore again and half an hour later the patio was clean and leaf free.

I was sitting down at the patio table admiring my work, when Lulu Lowcarbs came out baring a gift. It was a pint of Pimms, it had been marinating in the fridge for a couple of weeks and was a very welcome thirst quencher.

While we sat there supping our drinks Rio, one of my moggies came over and became very playful. After 20 mins of running around the lawn like a loony with a cat tease in tow and being chased by a small Bengal kitty that thinks he’s a Bengal tiger. Rio jumped up on the table and commenced his feed me song. I think there is a bit of Siamese somewhere in his ancestry.

Kitty baiting is thirsty work so I asked Lulu if there was another Pimms in the fridge. Sadly there wasn’t. However she said in a nonchalant way, “It seems a shame not to clean the leaves off the lawn”. I mumbled, “Hmmm it could actually do with a scarify and a mow”. Lulu played her trump hand and promised me a gin martini cocktail if I was going to do the law. Now I am a simple creature and easily bribed. Another couple of hours and the work was complete.

We sat outside supping our drinks watching the sun go down while Rio consigned another pouch of Felix to his digestive tract.

That low carb bread is great, isn't it? I laughed at Lulu's cunning plan to get you to do the lawn! How nice that it was warm enough to sit outside. Unfortunately my garden is almost in shade for most of the day in the autumn, from the large trees behind.
