I was rather tired today, because of yesterday’s activities. However today was my gym day and I wasn’t about to miss that. I think I overdid it a bit as Iv’e had a raging headache since the aerobics class.

Anyway exercising finished I drove home just in time for dinner. We put the Aldi butternut spaghetti to the test. We used it as a bed for a ¼ pounder Aberdeen Angus burger.

The prep was; we greased a frying pan with butter, popping the whole 250 grams into it then frying for five minutes. We then browned the burger in a separate pan with butter for a couple of minutes each side. Turning off the heat, the pan was covered and left to continue to cook in the residual heat. We boiled up a couple of heads of broccoli, then returning to the burger we added ½ a cup of double cream and six mushrooms. The cream blended well with the juices from the burger.

Note the butternut spaghetti by its self was a little bland, but once mixed with the cream and burger juices. It was a perfect accompaniment with a good texture.

The whole thing made a tasty and filling main course. The carb count was good too, with only about 40gms in the whole concoction.

So, the courgette spaghetti was better, it seems. Keep up the good work in the gym.
