Slept like crap last night. Went to bed at 11, awake every hour until 4. Woke up to a 2 lb gain, in spite of being at a deficit. Eyes burning, zero motivation. The difference? Trying to up my H2O consumption by adding 4C Energy Rush with Taurine. In place of my usual rum and Diet Coke. Nope. Just a big ole bag of nope.
The Energy Rush might be good for daytime addition, but not for nights. I worked until 2, came home, ate some chicken-egg salad, and needed a nap. I slept 5 damn hours!
When I finally woke up, it was after my eating (IF) window closed, so I'll go to bed a little hungry tonight. No biggie,
It's hot outside. I don't like Summer. Tomorrow's temperatures are supposed to be 100+, not including the heat index. Closer to 113 in "real feel". Ugh.
Back to bed. Tomorrow is a new day. It will be better.

I don't like high night time temperatures either. To up your H2O levels, drink water. Energy comes from fuel which is calories!

Kes, high humidity is known to cause sleeplessness, irritability, weight gain, fatigue and depression. This too will pass my friend, fall is just around the corner....if we make it through July and August without turning to french fries!

Thank you, my dear friends! I have been drinking more water than I did before this WOE. But that's easy, because I almost never drank water at all, and lived in a state of dehydration. I do reach for water more often now, although I still prefer flavored beverages to plain water. The energy packs I mentioned are actually pretty cool...they have a vitamin B complex, as well as taurine, an amino acid helpful in fat metabolism. I tend to be chronically vit. B deficient, so maybe this will help. And, maybe they did some good, after all, because this morning the 2 lbs I gained were gone, PLUS one more! Yay! I wore some leggings to work today, and for the first time since I've owned them, the waist band didn't roll down over my belly when I sat down. LOL The small victories deserve celebration, too. I also wore a top I've never been able to get on before..and it was loose! Wheee! People are starting to notice. I'm getting comments like, "You look good today" and, "You're shrinking". That feels pretty good too. The support and knowledge I've gotten here is life's blood right now, and for that, I'm immensely grateful.

MsK, Those moments when colleagues notice are a little thrill, eh? I pulled out a pair of purple jeans this morning that had been in the bottom of my drawer for two years. I bought them in an optimistic moment - and today they finally fit! Yay! The top I'm wearing is decidedly baggy and will have to either be retired or taken in. It's a good problem to have, but the clothes are definitely betwixt and between.

Good for you, Erika! Purple jeans..BAM! The last week, when I've been choosing what to wear for work, I've been going through and finding things that will be "Probably the last time I wear them". LOL I pulled out a pair of white chinos this morning, and, aw shucks...too late! I got them on without unbuttoning them, and there was a 4" gap at the waist! Since I've always been rather 'boy-shaped', I don't have hips that would hold them up, so into the donate bag they went! That bag is filling up fast these days. :)

Wow, I missed this yesterday. Sorry you had a bad day and hope today is much better. Nothing I dislike more that a night like the one you described. I sometimes don't sleep well for days at a time--not fun. I seem to be doing better lately, no sure if the diet has anything to do with it but I'm thinking getting rid of all of that sugar has to be part of it. You've been a great support for me.

By the way, I hate summer, too. I'm counting down to Labor Day.

@PhillySue, one of the greatest benefits I've gotten from LCHF is that my heat tolerance has improved. yeah, the heat and humidity are brutal, but I don't get wiped out by them like I have in the past.
