blkbear's Journal, 11 May 16

because I was asked I will give the brief rundown I am 64 years old as of January 10th I started this journey the end of April 2015,after many failed attempts at the weight of 308 pounds after receiving a fasting blood sugar of 378 six-month months prior I was on both short and long-term insulin with a blood pressure averaging about 140 over 95 cholesterol was also through the roof after one year and 11 days I am now at 174.9 pounds I have been off all diabetic medication for almost 4 months now cholesterol numbers are good hoping both those and blood pressure medication will disappear after the next labs first week in June best blood pressure numbers recently 100 over 70 with a pulse of 53 this didn't happen overnight when I first started walking I was averaging only a mile and a half per day I am currently doing about 7 miles per day I started doing 4 sit ups and was in pain for a whole week now I'm doing 211 everyday I am currently considering going down maybe another 10 pounds to give me that bridge until I can figure out a maintenance plan if anyone has any questions about anything please feel free by the way this is been mostly a low carb high fat moderate protein way of eating. I have not set foot in a gym or purchased an activity watch. Just got off the sofa and started to move NOT exercise. Hope this helps

Ditto what newmooney said... You're an inspiration to us all! Btw... 211 sit-ups is AMAZING! I don't mind crunches, but for some reason I loathe sit-ups. You've given me a new goal :)

Outstanding! The more I read and watch of Dr. Jason Fung makes me think that he's totally right and diabetes is not actually a chronic and progressive disease, that it can be reversed. Seeing results like yours makes me a believer! I wish I could convince my Mom. She's 71 about to be 72 and she is on 200 units of long term insulin daily, plus the short term insulin after meals....she just gets sicker and sicker and a bit of confusion and dementia occasionally.
