I decided to start doing sit ups every day to try and get rid of my tummy, I know sit ups don't really count as excersise but I just did 30 of them in a couple of minutes, not much I know but we have to start somewhere

Any exercise counts as exercise. You might not do it very long, but if you do it repetitively day after day, you will see quite an effect.
