Stalling and its reasons

After a brilliant start which really bolstered my resolve and self-esteem, the past five days have seen just a 500 grams loss (give or take - we all know how scales, time of the month, bodily functions can affect the bottom line). I know I haven't given in and I haven't eaten till my belly says it's empty.

BTW, I try to eat "real food" - that's real full-fat yoghurt, for example, rather than a pot of chemically enhanced yoghurt which has only a few calories and nil satisfaction.

Feeling disgruntled after my absolute focus and dedicated eating programme, I took a look at a 500 gram loss and reality.

500 grams is the size of a slab of lard or butter. It's one of those tubs of spread, a lump of cheese and a quarter larger than 1 pound. That's made me feel a lot happier.

Onwards and upwards.

11 March 2017

I sleep-walked weighed this morning. I had fallen asleep at around three this morning, having been unable to nod off and giving in to my latest sci-fi as a way to pass the hours. I do this a lot nowadays. No point stressing if I can't sleep.

Anyway, I double-checked this weight loss when the FS message came up that I had lost .8 of a kilo (which may be more than they would expect) since yesterday. I went back and stood on those scales and there it was.

Today is Day 8. It's 9 days since I stood in front of the full length mirror and saw something I didn't like, someone I didn't want to be and was embarrassed to go out.

An old boyfriend (who didn't mind if I was "softly rounded") used to say "If you don't like your size, diet or get bigger clothes". I don't think he really understood women.

Have any of you ever had words of totally inappropriate wisdom from their husbands, wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, other halves, significant others, one-night-stands, parent(s), neighbours or friends? If so, I would love to hear them.
