Weird day. Started last night, with being exhausted after 2 busy days at work. As some of you know, I'm what's called a 'social loner', or introvert. I like social interaction, but it takes a toll on me, and I need long periods of solitude to recover. I love and care about my clients, and when one of them is going through a hard time, it affects me almost as much as it does them.
Yesterday, a long-time client came in, and the first words out her mouth were, "Well, I'm a widow." Not unexpected, but a big life change for her. She barely held back the tears, and so did I.
So, after a quick stop at Walmart for the cat littler I forgot to get the other day, I came home and basically went through the motions of taking care of my cats, and withdrawing from 'reality' on the computer. By 8 PM, I was ready to sleep. Slept deeply until 11:30 PM...then woke up wide awake. I played computer games for about 3 hours, and finally got sleepy again, and got another 4 hours of sleep.
I've been feeling a little 'log-jammed' the last couple of days, so I decided on having a BPC this morning. The MCT oil never fails to loosen things up in my digestive system. But today, it was different.
In the bathroom every 30 minutes throughout the day, and some SERIOUS stomach cramping. Some were so bad that they doubled me over, and made me groan out loud.
Now I'm having computer problems. The system just shuts down.
Tomorrow will be a better day.

Dammit. Corn on the cob is a big fat NO. Weight this morning was 159, and by mid-morning, my ankles were water balloons. I'm 99% sure it was the corn, and not the watermelon I reacted to, because the melon wasn't very good, so I only had 2 bites. This afternoon, I was sneezing and coughing, although I think that's more from respiratory allergies than the corn.
On the upside, I had a (slender) co-worker tell me today that I needed to "Staaahp" because I'm getting so small, and several clients comment that they could tell I've lost even more. My collarbones are clearly visible, now, and the 'side-bewbs' are gone. When I stand with my arms down, they actually touch my sides ALL the way down. Odd feeling!
It's been 26 hours since I ate last, and I'm a little hungry, but it's a case of the 'kitty-wants'. I want something, but I have no idea what. I keep running options through my mind, and get a lot of, "Meh..." responses. I keep smelling the char-grilled aroma of last night's chicken, but I'm too tired/lazy to go through the rigmarole of grilling tonight after a busy and tiring day at work.
I'll figure it out, I'm sure.

I have to brag on my meal today. One of the foodie channels I subscribe to on YouTube posted a recipe today that got my mouth watering. I made a few changes to it, and had charcoal grilled tandoori chicken wings and bi-color corn on the cob. OMG! It was out of this world! As I was grilling, my neighbor walked over with a quarter of a HUGE watermelon, so some of that was dessert. The pure essence of summer has made me a happy, happy gal! Well worth waiting 23 hours for. I haven't calculated the macros for it yet, but I'm pretty sure it's well under 80g of carbs. Within my limits for the day. It'll be interesting to see how the scales behave tomorrow. I'm interested mostly in how my body has reacted to the corn. As I approach maintenance, data like that is going to be important. If it spikes insulin, it's off the 'allowed' list. If it promotes inflammation, likewise.
I'm SO grateful for how responsive and communicative my body is, and for my growing understanding of the subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) signals it sends me.

Popping back in. After eating Chinese food Wednesday afternoon, I didn't experience the usual carb cravings on Thursday. In fact, I wasn't interested in food at all, so I fasted until around 4 PM on Friday. Nice little un-planned 49 hour fast!
I met up with the ex to give him a haircut, go to dinner and play some backgammon.I had some great ceviche...you can do keto with Mexican food, if you can resist the obligatory basket of chips and salsa they bring.
I must be low in iron, because today I'm craving chicken livers. I'm going to make my version of The Old Spaghetti Factory's chicken liver sauce, and put it over some zoodles. I'm right at 24 hours fasting for today, and feeling the need for some comfort food!
Work today was a bust. I only had 2 on the book, and the first one called to cancel an hour before the appointment. The second was just a man's cut ($18), but since I needed to go into town for a Walmart run, I went ahead and went in. He didn't show! When I called him, he said he forgot, but could be there in an hour. Nuh-uh! I'm not waiting around for an hour because YOU forgot! So I went to Wallyworld, did my shopping, and got home by 2. It's hot and muggy, and I was soaked in sweat by the time I had all the groceries out of the car. Ugh.
Now I'm in my comfies, cooled off in the blessed A/C, and drinking lots of water.
Oh, oh, oh! I discovered a kind of fizzy water called "Clear American", and it comes in a lot of different flavors. 0 calories, 0 carbs, added electrolytes, and the one I'm drinking tastes like an orange creamsicle! Yummy stuff! Some of you are aware of my 'issues' with getting enough water. This may be the cure.
I'm off to make some dinner. There's thunder in the distance, so I want it done in case we lose power.
