The brown rice experiment was interesting. Yep, it did bump my weight up. But, it apparently made the gut bugs very happy, because the gas the last couple of days has been horrendous! I hadn't really thought about it, but I really haven't had any flatulence at all since I started LCHF. I actually had to excuse myself at work yesterday to go outside to fart! ROFL! So, I think I'll continue to add some resistant starches periodically, but infrequently.
I had a moment of panic on the way home when I went to pay the water bill and vote. I opened my wallet to get the money, and noticed that my driver's license wasn't in its spot. "Think, Kes, THINK! When did you last have it out???" Was it when I cashed a check at the drive thru at the bank? Did the teller send it back with the money? Oh, wait, you had to show it to the FEMA guy when he came out to assess the storm damage..what the bloody hell did you do with it then? So I rushed home, tore through the stack of papers on the desk, and...PHEW! There it was, at the very bottom of the stack. Am I old enough to be having 'senior moments'? Put the license back in its spot, and go back to the polling place.
*sigh* It's a sad state of affairs when the choice of president comes down to the lesser of two evils. I mostly went because I was interested in some local elections.
At least it's over, and it might be safe to return to Facebook. :P
My sleep pattern is still wonky. I ended up going to bed at 8 last night! Which, of course, means that I'm wide awake at 3 AM. Oh, joy. I might take a nap when I get home from work this afternoon, to try to get my body clock reset.

I loved this entry! Senior moments and farting... You're the best, ma'am! You have nothing to worry about! We all misplace items at one time or another, even when we're teenagers. :) Keep us updated on those resistant starches, that will be interesting to hear how the affect you and your diet goals! LOL! Thanks, Roobert and April. I've developed a system to deal with my 'senior moments'. I ask myself what I would do (or would put 'X') If I were me. It works 99% of the time. Not so with some jewelry that I hid 2 years ago! I won't go into why I felt the need to hide it (sordid tale), but I hid it so well, I couldn't find it for over 2 years! I knew it had to be in the house....or at least in the car. But after several frantic searches, no luck. Then one day, cleaning out my makeup cart (yes, I said CART), I found the pouch, and just marveled at the genius of the hiding place. And remembered exactly why I had put it there. DOH! I'm still very interested in the resistant starches and gut health. My intuitive side tells me they are crucial to good health and aging.
