Good morning, my FS buddies! It's a cool, drizzly day....just my kind of weather. I get energized by it. I'm odd that way. Yesterday, I decided to test the new limits of my ketogenic state. I really want to see what the upper limit for carbs is. So I stopped for lunch at a local Mom-n-Pop Mexican restaurant, and had cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. And tortilla chips and salsa. The salsa wasn't very good, so I didn't have very many of the chips. I ate more at lunch than I did in the whole rest of the week, combined! Clocked in for the day at almost 92g net carbs, 1261 calories. Net result: it did NOT take me out of ketosis! I checked before bed, and the strip showed between low and moderate. This morning, it was firmly in the moderate range. Not only that, but I had no sweet cravings, and stayed comfortably full until around 8 PM. Had a half cup of cottage cheese, and that was it. No carb hangover today, either. Holy wow! For someone who's stayed pretty strictly under 20g of carbs a day, and under 1000 Kcal, that's a huge shift. Oh, and my weight has stayed stable since my last weigh-in. Not even a blip in the decimal point. Go figure. Now I'm trying to decide whether to roll with the new high for a few days, or push the limit again today to see how many more I can handle and stay in ketosis. I'll see what the day feels like, I guess. No, I'm not going to get a pizza...wheat is still off the menu. As is sugar. But it's fun experimenting with my new limits! Have a great Saturday! ~Kes
