here2bhealthy's Journal, 20 Jan 16

So I’m back. For real this time. Because staying and doing the work gets results. Having a look back at the weight graph against my "Way of Life" phone app, I’m seeing the correlation of regular exercise with diet in maintaining (and reducing weight).

At my “best” weight at the beginning of October 2015, I had been exercising at least 5 times a week and keeping my food diary.

A couple bouts of flu and colds cut the days I exercised down to half through the rest of October and November.

Come December, I was back to my bad habits and no exercise at all.

By the beginning of January, the result was gain of 5.5 pounds (about 2.5 kilos).

So lesson learned. But I’m trying.

Spring will be here soon. I have family coming to visit who haven’t seen me since I was near my top weight.

This makes my goal a bit more meaningful. Of course, I’m doing this for myself and not for anyone else’s approval. It just helps to have that deadline.

I was also noticing recently that my weight loss went much better in months when I tracked intake regularly, and exercise certainly makes a difference over time. Good luck to you with your restart. Many of us on here had a break during December, and we have noticed how difficult it is to get back to following our eating rules again! If you stick it for two weeks, I think it gets easier after that!
