Good morning!

It's the last day in Paris! It's 6:30am and we're at the hotel breakfast buffet as usual. I'm having my one piece of baguette with my one piece of cheese. It's endlessly boring, but it's all that is remotely reasonable. A croissant is easily 250 calories and will just make me hungrier. Not gonna happen. So this way I get through breakfast at a less than 200 calorie "cost" and it'll carry me through to lunch time.

I did good yesterday. I ended up at around 1700 calorie, nowhere near the three 3000 calories allowance I've given myself while on vacation. I did feel that I was hungry gry for protein last night, craving meat.

We had a couple of good food experiences yesterday.

First, we went to the huge flea markets again. I think w have pretty much seen it all, but it is MASSIVE! I bought a few movies, a couple of shirts and a few other things.

Around lunch time we walked closer to downtown to have lunch at a a small Mediterranean restaurant that we discovered last time we were here. It turned out to be closed, though, but we fou d a tiny shopping mall that had a superb little Indian spot, where we had curry chicken. Yum!

Afterwards, we had coffee. I gotta say, I'm not too big on French coffee, but it was nice regardless. Besides, the tiny cups makes me feel like Gigantor!

We entry back to the markets afterwards, and just walks around, enjoying the vibe. It was raining all day yesterday, but it really didn't phase us much, other than that we trekked back to the hotel to put on more appropriate clothes.

There really is a LOT to see at the markets, not just stores but also little exhibits and crafts.

We put in quite a bit of walking again, pedometer says 11000 steps, which should be around 8 kilometers, give or take. Overall, a nice day.

I got really hungry around dinner time. It's been quite a while since I've been hungry like that. I was craving meat. Lots and lots of meat. My guess is that my body was asking me for protein, after 4 days of carb heavy bread and not the best food choices.

We didn't really want to do a whole lot last night. We were tired and just wanted to relax. So we found a little junk food spot where we could just do our best with what was available.

I got a sandwich with TONS of grilled chicken, with a side of fries and a soda. I picked a coke zero, and threw away the fries, leaving me with basically a baguette and LOTS of chicken. It was surprisingly good.

We brought the food back to the hotel and ate there, while watching movies in bed. A great way to end the day.

I felt like chocolates in the evening, so I decided to go for two chocolate protein bars - total cost of 380 calories, but with 32g of protein, almost no carbs and a lot better than a chocolate bar.

...

So, as mentioned, today is last day in Paris. We've got until about 2pm in Paris, then it's time to head to the airport.

We don't wanna go, we're having a great time here. We're already using terms like "next time", when we talk. I know we'll be back.

It's been a good morning, and I know it'll be a great day. I woke up early, 4am,as always. Old habits die hard. So, we got up and made coffee in our hotel room, and I did my workout. Then we packed up all our stuff and got ready to leave. Then headed down for breakfast, which is where we're still sitting.

It's now 7 am, and we still have a couple of hours to kill before the stores open.

We are counting on heading out to do a little last-day shopping for a few hours, and then be back at the hotel just a few moments before check-out time to pick up our stuff. This will be at noon.

Then, we'll find a nice little restaurant, and have a good lunch. We'll have our suitcase with us, so we won't be walking around too much at this point. We travel light, though, so it isn't horribly bad. One duffebag type suitcase with wheels plus the bags that we've had with us every day here. I love traveling this way.

... And then, afterwards, it's off towards Denmark. Back to reality.

Today, I'm thankful for:
- Paris, even when it's cold and raining!
- Wife!
- Having the Chris Powell workout available on my tablet, so I can get a decent workout on the go. It's not so hard that it's murder, but efficient enough for me to feel a muscle burn and to feel that I'm doing something.

Have a great day. Life is good!

Awww... Love your Journal. You inspired me so much about Paris yesterday, that I looked up some short breaks... We have never been and it is only across the Channel for us (ok a drive this end to get to the channel or an airport). I was surprised at how expensive it is.... I may have to do some further exploration, to find some other prices. Have a great last day.

Dancers remind me of art I have called "The Singing Butler" by Scottish artist Jack Vettriano. Love it! Thanks so much for sharing this great experience.
