So, I ate some chocolate birthday cake last nite , then had a burger, no bun

And it’s that time of the month

So, so bloated today

But.. HALF A STONE gain ! 😞😞

Saw orthopaedics yesterday, probably looking at hip surgery if steroids injection) which is kinda contraindicated with my EDS) doesn’t work.

Can’t do this anymore, so depressing, one step forwards and 3 steps back. Always. Repeatedly. Guess I just can’t commit to what I need to do to lose weight at the moment. Been on this treadmill for 4 years now 🤔signing off for the moment 🤐

Hope all your plans work out, my lovely FS friends 🤗🤗

Oh Poppy, I'm sorry you feel like that. I'm sure it must just be water. You can't put on that many pounds of fat in two days - it's impossible! Maybe you would be better off just weighing once a week. Anyway, if you don't feel up to carrying on here just try to keep the same weight for now. Take care. We're always here for you if you need any support. Big hugs 🤗

We're here for you Popps! Doobs is right, it can't be fat, it will be water weight. Plus you've said it's that ToM so you're probably feeling emotional too. Four years is a long time but you're a fighter. Keep the faith!

Poppy, lve talked about this fasting business on this site before, a 24hr fast works to shock your metabolism, one time is fine.Read your bio again your fasting read's like every third or second day. It's finally happened your brain said enough is enough I'm going into starvation mode anything you eat know the majority of your intake is going to be stored as fat. If you'll been paying attention to other people's try at this as soon as they start eating again they gain the weight back in spades!! I get it, your frustrated because your doing the treadmill and you feel like you're spinning your wheels and you are. You've shocked your body so many times it doesn't know if it's coming or going and frankly is that how you want to live the rest of your life always in starvation mode. l don't think so....you and everyone one else wants to eat healthy and enjoy life.Enough said... My advice to you is stop all this nonsense and frustration.Find a healthy WOE..exercise..set up a RDI...count your Cal. intake. Go have a conversation with a Dietitian and a Trainer about your treadmill and other exercise's you can do at your home if you wish. Then apply yourself sensibly, enjoy life and watch the lbs & Fat drop off.

poppycom, just commit to track your food everyday. you dont have to keep to any targets just track. after a while you will see some patterns amd you will naturally change your habits. nothing wrong about any food including burger and chocolate cake and you can eat or not eat at any time. dont feel you have to eat if you are not hungry. I have just broken a 20 hour fast with 1000 calories and really cant eat any more.

Hi Poppy. Just had a look at an article on the internet and it says: "Pre-period water weight can range from half of a pound to 10 pounds, usually averaging around five for most women. Why? The hormone progesterone — essential in the early stages of pregnancy — is to blame: when there’s no baby (aka when you get your period), these levels fall. As a side effect, each cell in your body retains an extra microscopic drop of water" The article suggests you exercise and drink water and the weight should fall back to normal within a few days. It does mention that PMS can be associated with cravings for fatty and sugary foods, so the impact from eating the burger and cake may remain, but it sounds like it's being exaggerated by the water gain from PMS. The journalist got the information from a gynaecologist. Sounds like it's best not to worry. Just wait for a bit and see what happens.

Poppy, please don't be discouraged. You have really inspired me in so many ways since we've buddied up this last year. It sounds to me, you need to take a little break, but then come right back, okay? No judgements at all. I go and come all the time. You have had such dedication and focus for a long time. I would try to maintain like everyone says. Just remember, its your TOM and emotions run amok. Water weight gain is sad but most of us women get that ... men, too, actually. Your meds can cause water weight and so can stress. So, take a breather and come on back. Hugs!

Poppy, DON'T LEAVE YOUR FS FAMILY!! You have contributed so much to everyone and I personally have loved your sense of humor. I imagine that half your battle is medication and you can work around it. You don't have to weigh in if it is too discouraging for you. Just track your food and come here for our support and encouragement. I personally will keep you close to my heart!

Poppy this is nothing to be alarmed about. It's a number and it will soon drop and show you it was a temporary number. Please stay focused and you will succeed Sweetie!

Totally agree with Horseshu, Poppy. You really don't need to keep recording your weight. Do what I do and only record the losses - lol! The gains are just everyday fluctuations. I would hate to record all the times I put on a pound or two - far too depressing and discouraging! We love you here so you can't leave 😘
