Reading uni was great. The students were amazing and the degree modules and opportunities very flexible. Great pastoral care with tutor and buddy systems and reasearch opportunities.. cannot understand why they're not a Russell group uni.

Campus was beautiful, well planned and spread out.. did nearly 4 hours walking, really tested myself trying to keep up with able bodied groups on the accommodation/campus tours.

I gained 0.7 lbs.. after we got stuck in traffic, we had bacon sandwiches as I couldn't stand up to cook, so I just weighed my bread, ate a minimal amount and I'm sure this contributed to water gain... oh, and Mother Nature gave me an early pressie thus morning, which normally puts my weight up be a couple of lbs.. so it's all good.

NSV. 1) didnt notice yesterday, my BMI was 26😁
NSV 2) able to keep up with able bodied strangers on most of the tours( had to refuse stairs by the end)
NSV 3) comfortably wore size 16 jeans 👖 all day, including sitting driving fir hours.. my back is still very swollen, so my belly must be smaller😉

Unplanned 27.5 hr fast.. wasn't really hungry, so I suppose I might still be in ketosis. Planning another extended fast fir this week. Dr fung says more than 0.5 lb loss per day is probably water, so glad I haven't rrlegained too much, but need to keep on it!!

When you discover something that works fir you, go for it!!

Have a successful Sunday, whatever you want to achieve, fs friends 😁😁😁

Well done Poppy - bacon is a great thing for holding water - probably the salt - too nice to give up though

Yep, salt & carbs are great for regaining water. Great you liked Reading. And well done on the walking around. I hope it hasn't taken too much out of you for today. Have fun!

You're certainly a trooper, Poppy! Well done for keeping up even if you are feeling worn out today. Hope your bath makes you feel better 🙂

Thanks Doobs Miles better after a lovely hot soak.. Have the hot choc cups lined up and will be off to Hatfield house soon to collect the cold wet ones, then home to relax with the papers and a cuppa with a friend later 😁

That sounds like a great afternoon! I take it you're visiting Universities for your daughter ... or have you had a sudden epiphany and hankering after further education yourself? If she decides on Reading I'll give you my details so she has a very local emergency contact in case she needs one - you never know 🤔😔

Thanks P.. yup older daughter is gonna read German and international relations joint honours.. some of the unis have a scheme where she can continue with her Japanese and learn mandarin or another language as a module or in addition to her degree. It all seems very complicated. Thanks fir the offer of contact details 🤗 At the moment she's deciding the 5 unis to put on her UCAS form.. they all seem to go around the country visiting different unis.. it's big bucks business fir the unis.. so they all try to sell you their services. We still have to revisit Leeds and visit Portsmouth and UCD. I'm sooo excited for her.. I wouldn't want to be 17 again tho! I'm well done with teenage angst and exam pressure 🤣🤣

Adpully.. reading college is only round the corner on the way to the town centre, we passed it yesterday 😁 The uni now has 17,000 students It has a really good attitude to languages.. 1,200 students currently take language models in addition to those who take it as a main subject for their honours degree. It was very impressive!

I attended Reading University in 1986 - for a week of Summer School with the Open University - I remember walking miles between accommodation, canteen, bars - oh and lessons - I was doing Pure Maths

Wow mini. Pure maths 😱😱 Lots of the halls of residence were built in 2010, but the grounds to the accommodation ere lovely.. accessed by a bridge across a lake ❤️

I did OU maths around then - but TM282 modelling with maths. I have forgotten exactly where the summer school was.
