73 days to go
15.4 lbs to go
1190 Cals
10.17g carbs
20:4 fast

So I didn't manage the 24 hour fast

I always find after eating carbs I'm STARVING for a few days.. so I broke my fast with salami

But I managed to avoid the chocolate digestives ( I thought everyone dreamed about then like me Doobs 😊)

I had cheese, but on my bolognaise sauce.. filled me up so I avoided the pasta and garlic bread
Went to bed when the girls started eating ice cream

Another pound for the jar ( woohoo, 2 whole pounds😉)

Have a happy and successful Wednesday fs friends 😎😎

Congrats of avoiding the carbs - especially the digestives, lol! Have you got a spiralizer? They're brilliant for making courgetti to go with sauces like bolognese. Hope you have a nice day 🙂

lol.. bought a spiraliser last September, will have to use it before it's a year old! I've bought carrots/ courgettes, but never got round to spiralising them. Just find it less effort to skip the pasta that everyone else is eating . But it would probably stop me being so hungry 🤔🤔 .. and possibly hANGRY, when I smell the pasta and garlic bread.. will try next time 👍

I like zucchini better than carrots to use with sauces as they seem to have less taste I'm not familiar with the other squash you all keep mentioning as I have a black thumb. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm always starving for a couple of days after carbs too. Well done on missing out on more carbs and prolonging the agony.

hANGRY. Love it!!! I don't have a kitchen or fresh produce at the moment, but one of my dreams for life "on the outside" is to get a spiralizer. Not a huge Zucchini fan, but drying the strands out a bit so they can soak up some oil/fat makes them sound so, so awesome. I'm lucky in that I'm getting pretty close to hospital food, which helps on passing up things, and that the kitchen is very helpful. They've stopped sending bread, rice, etc--for the most part--though a stray pudding shows up every once in a while. A few weeks ago a new person slipped a tiny bowl of FROSTED FLAKES into my breakfast. I was still pretty much asleep until I noted an intense sweetness in my mouth that wasn't Sweet-n-Low or Splenda...SUGAR!!! Cough, gag, retch. I was suddenly WIDE AWAKE and staring at the frosted flake crumbs on my lap. Luckily it was only a little, maybe a bit over a quarter of a cup. Just started experimenting with Carbquik. The greatest thing about Carbquik is that it is good, but not TOO good. After I ate my first couple biscuits made of the stuff, I literally had tears in my eyes because I wasn't hungrier than before I ate it and wasn't going into a carb-induced feeding frenzy. Thanks for the inspiration and your example!

I have a spiraliser but it always seems too much of a bother when I knock up a salad in 10 minutes! SMProwett - courgette is English English for zucchini.

Thanks minitata and smprowett Smprowett.. zucchini and courgettes are the same Minitata.. I could currently eat my own hands, I'm so hungry So gonna have a cuppa with a spoon of cream and start the massive ironing pile to distract myself Hung a smaller top up where I can see it.. want to wear it when I go out to dinner when my friend visits from NZ next month Got my xmas fat photo as a screen saver Doing my best to battle the hunger, as I know more carbs is a slippery slope, but today is gonna be a really hard day

I am with Doobrie...I love my spiralizer. I often use zucchini and saute it in a bit of butter and garlic. It is heavenly with or without sauce and absolutely delicious with shrimp or chicken. Your motivation triggers seem to be quite apropos. Good luck.

I don't sauté the spiral-cut zucchini, I just heat my sauce and simmer the zucchini in it for 3 or 4 minutes until tender. Saves a step and a pan.

You can also just dice the zucchini into small rounds and stir fry them quickly with just about anything in the oil to give then some flavor. If you like garlic, onions, peppers (which make me gag!) but they don't even necessarily need meat. A sprinkle of shredded cheese on top and a five minute meal!

I think the carbs "tickle" the receptors in your brain and they are like baby birds craning their necks as high as they can with mouths wide open for more carbs. I can have the same problem, but if I nip it in the bud, I'm ok.

Lol, Horseshu1! I love that analogy - I shall think of it every time I eat carbs now 😊
