3 days to go
7.2 lbs to go
37 hr fast ( so far)
29.1% body fat

Thanks fir all the support and lovely comments yesterday. I had too much going on to reply or look at others journals, but the support really helped me get through the day

37 hr fast ( so far) has kept me from stress eating the krackerwheat, crisps and the Japanese food including sushi rice that my daughter cooked last night .

Drinking plenty of water and only having cream in my tea

Not much sleep but off to work now.. gonna try to book tomorrow as leave ( I'm off from Thursday anyway fir the airport runs and the wedding)

Would love a portion of fat chips with scraps right now, but I've learnt that won't make me happy 😊 not even while I'm eating them, just guilty and sad

Have a terrific Tuesday, fs friends 😁😁

Well done on the fast but remember that how you break it is important. A bit of protein with fat and minimal carbs (since you run LCHF) is the way and make it a small meal - you can always have a bit more later. Love and positive thoughts coming your way and I hope you can get tomorrow off - it sounds as if you need a day to relax before the fun and festivities of the wedding begin. Take care, Poppy! 💐🤗

You're doing it! Like you, I miss the idea of food as comfort, even if that idea was only an illusion and it never worked out that way. You're an inspiration!

Thanks all I'll just break my fast with almonds as usual Phooka 😁 Just at the moment it's easier not to eat than comfort eat And fasting is also keeping me off alcohol at the moment, so that's probably wise aswell. Probably break my fast tonight or tomorrow On Friday at the wedding I'll eat what I want But I won't be drinking apart from a few sips for the toast, as I'll be driving 😁

If I looked half as good in that red dress as you do, and if I could even fit in that red dress, I'd have all the motivation I needed to stay away from the chips. You're killing it, my queen. Stay on course!

I don't know you, but I'm looking forward to this wedding on your behalf. You're such a rare and shining example of how this can work! Alcohol used to take edge off hunger for me, but shifted to relaxing my judgement about food. So being the default designated driver isn't all bad! :-)

Addictive personalities can always find something to "addict" over! My first memory of the obsession was eating my entire Niagara Chocolate Easter bunny -- all 10 glorious hollow inches of him -- in a single day, and then devouring my sister's bunny, down to the solid base, by midday, Easter Monday. My sister's anguished wail ("MY BUH-NEEEEEEE!") revealed my crime to my mother. ...

Mom's response: "Patty, I'm not going to punish you because you're going to be SO SICK that you'll never do this again!" Wrongo, Mamma Mia! And that wasn't the first time in my childhood I'd be caught bingeing on chocolate ... and ice cream ... and cookies... Turns out I had a prodigious tolerance for cocoa, fat, and sugar that haunts me to this day.

My husband has been sober for 30 years and stopped smoking 29 years ago, both quit cold-turkey by virtue of his great personal discipline. That all happened long before I knew him. Unfortunately, he replaced alcohol and tobacco with sugar. He consulted a bariatrician who told him that it's very common to replace one addiction with another. (I was just lucky that mine has always been chocolate. They don't arrest anyone for driving under the influence of M&Ms!)

You are doing so GREAT! You are an inspiration to us all! 🙆🏻Enjoy that wedding and have a lovely time sweetheart! 😘

Eh, I've noticed that people who buy into the "addictive personality" model tend to project it onto others a lot. Replacement addictions happen when root causes/unmet needs aren't addressed (granted: hard work) so pattern of turning to external substance/experience/etc continues. Not constructive to assume others are same.

Another super drop Poppy! You are doing so well.

At times, addictions can be (or at least start as) maladaptative behaviors that compensate for **unmet** needs and/or losses, rooted in **unresolved** emotional/psychological issues. Sometimes, an "addiction" is simply a "bad habit"!
