2 weeks to go!
18:6 fast yesterday
22.08g carbs
1238 Cals

LIGHTBULB MOMENT

For all my life, my joints have ached. I take nearly 30 tablets daily.

Last night I was at 7.38g carbs for the day. Just before bed time, the OH was eating cheese and onion pringles. So I had 12.. I counted them, so I could eat them this morning and count the carbs.

Went to bed at 930pm. By the time the OH came to bed a couple of hours later, when I woke up everything hurt. All my joints, from my neck, to my fingers, to in between the little bones in my feet and ankles.still sore this morning.. wierdly thus has made me very happy 😁😁if there was any doubt in my mind that inflammation in my joints worsens with carbs, it's gone now! So I'm definitely in the right path for my health with low carb intake.

I tried to put a picture of my new top on my fs journal, but even thru my web browser, the iPhone keeps reverting to the mobile app, instead of fs.co.uk.. thanks to the fs friends who offered advice, I'll get you he teenagers to look at it later😉

On the diet front, OH had bought sweet and sour chicken and egg fried rice.at 70.4g and 47.3 g carbs respectively, I decided to pass and made myself bacon and an omelette. And I was doing so well until I smelt the pringles.. I hope it's a lesson learned 😊

Plan for today
Physio at 9am
Keep on going with WOE
Drink plenty of water
Have a happy and successful Friday fs friends 😎😎

Unintentional experiment that it was, it seems pretty conclusive evidence for you. Plus you've pretty much mastered any cravings you've had - definitely in the workplace. How are you feeling? I guess if you can eat Pringles your cold sores are a bit better

Nice drop, Poppy! Ingredients in cheese & onion Pringles: Dehydrated Potatoes, Vegetable Oils (Sunflower, Corn), Rice Flour, Wheat Starch, Corn Flour, Cheese & Onion Seasoning (Onion Powder, Dextrose, Cheese Powder {Milk}, Lactose {Milk}, Flavour Enhancers {Monosodium Glutamate, Disodium Guanylate, Disodium Inosinate}, Acids {Lactic Acid, Citric Acid}, Flavourings), Emulsifier (E471), Maltodextrin, Salt, Colour (Annatto). If the aches don't put you off, surely reading this list of ingredients will!

Thanks phooka.. a definitely definitive experiment!!👍👍 I'm feeling much better.. OH eats pringles most weekends , but I can normally avoid them.. I think they proved irresistible as my cold lips, roof of my mouth and throat were soooo much better that I ate them " because ican"😊😊

Hopefully, Doobrie 😁 Maybe it was a combo of carbs and all those additives.. it made me realise how bad my joints used to feel and I don't want to go there again.. But whatever it says on the tin, it's the smell that entices me 😋😊

Agree with Phooka, far too many chemicals in Pringles. Also I read that they have been designed to stimulate appetite so that you can't just eat one! However, I tried it one time, ate one and left it at that. Reading the lists of ingredients helped!

Sorry, not Phooka, it was Doobrie!

Ah heidij.. I could never eat just one.. I had 2 mini stacks of 6 pringles each and weighed them the next morning 😊

Interestingly, Poppy, I've been doing a bit of research this morning on MSG (Monosodium Glutamate), Disodium Guanylate and Disodium Inosinate (they're usually together in food). Here's a quote from one of the sites, but they're all saying similar things: MSG can cause pain and inflammation in the body, especially in the joints. This artificial type of additive is especially harmful for those who suffer from inflammations including rheumatoid arthritis. Perhaps this was the cause of your pain after all, especially as you don't get it with your Krackerwheat which doesn't contain MSG, etc.

Ooh thanks Doobrie.. that's really interesting. My daughter said it might be the additives. When I think about it, when my health is at its worst, I eat more convenience foods.. And normally, after a late night, when we gave takeaway eg Chinese, my joints are terrible the next day.. but u always presumed I was tired so I couldn't handle my pain aswell ... hmmmm🤔🤔🤔🤔 After the pringles was such a definite and acute reaction.. thanks fir the research and heads up Doobrie 👍👍❤️❤️

Beef, pork, potatoes, tomatoes, & red kidney beans exacerbates arthritis and other joint problems. Esp. in cold weather, if I have steak & potatoes for dinner, can't walk next day! Also too much salt of course.

Ah Erin.. I'd be in trouble.. I eat beef at least 2-3 times per week... The aching in my joints isn't due to arthritis ( yet).. I have a connective tissue disorder called EDS that makes my joints dislocate due to stretchy ligaments and tendons, ( tho this causes extra wear and tear in my joints so I still have that to come) But thanks very much fir the advice 😁👍👍
