So, I did a 16 hour fast
Broke my fast with hazelnuts
Was getting a migraine so ate at work, where there was a summer " bring a lunch" gathering
Ate 1/8 quiche Lorraine, salad, strawberries and cream and water. Avoided juice/cake/crisps/crackers/bread/cake/ salad dressing

Went out to eat for our silver anniversary.. but tried to fill out food diary as best I can :
6 large prawns.. less than 1 tsp sweet chilli sauce on the side
Pan fried salmon, less than 1 tsp hollandaise sauce, asparagus, salad ( lettuce, carrots and cucumber with 1/2 a cherry tomato and balsamic dressing on the side).
Avoided bread, left all the new potatoes,decided I didn't want dessert as much as I want a new dress for the wedding.
Had a max 100mls rose Pinot grichio fior the toast and 2 diet cokes.( I was driving to stop me drinking)


Today I am up 2lbs!!😞😞
It's a good job I didn't have a big blowout as I had given myself permission 😉

Bitterly disappointed

See physio tomorrow.. will see what he has to say about my hip , which is still very painful

On the plus side,last night I wore the dress that I wore to my last cousin's wedding in July 2016 and my parents golden wedding in August 2016 and it looked very different to last year. My daughters said it looked lovely ❤️❤️

The wedding is 5 weeks tomorrow, will try to buy a tape measure today to see if that will cheer me up.

No idea why you should put on two pounds with such a small amount to eat yesterday. Are you sure your scales are OK, Poppy? Some can be very inaccurate. Glad you had a nice celebration anyway.

Dunno Doobrie.. if I'd cheated more or had anything to eat that I didn't log then I'd understand, I even had the dressings in little pots and pored a tiny taste onto the plates. Still it could have been much worse if I'd had a carb blow out and plenty of alcohol, undoing my waist band in the taxi on the way home felling bloated and uncomfortable, like I used to.. I've reweighed myself and still the same🤔 Will see what the scales say tomorrow 😉

I think you put 2 pounds on as you ate things that you don't usually. Your body has got used to what it has to digest and this will have slowed it down. It may take 2 days, but it'll drop off again. All the work that's being done on the gut biome at the moment points to our brains and guts working in harmony and the bacteria changing with what we eat - very quickly - it's fascinating.

Could be water. Could be the artificial sweeteners. Have you pooped? Are you due on? Take away the fact you looked lovely in your dress. xx P.S If you have quiche again just leave the pastry (say it causes inflammation if asked)

Hey Poppy, as others have said, it could be water, all kinds of things - it's not really possible for you to have gained .9 in bodyfat overnight, and even so, to do so, you'd have to have overeaten by thousands of calories! Don't let this cloud your vision or your lovely optimism! Bodies are "gonna body" sometimes, and water plays a tremendous role in bodyweight, from day-to-day. Long as you log it so that you can trust what you did/did not have, and get back on the horse, I promise you, it's okay. I've been there, I've had the same things sometimes and you just keep going. :-)

Thanks ffbb and rgg.. if I'd thought of it, I could have avoided nearly 7g of carbs by not eating the quiche base like I avoided the pizza base at my mums last week. Doh! I suppose I'll just have to see what the scales bring tomorrow!! Late nite tonight.. I'm normally long asleep but collecting my daughter and friends from prom 🎉🎉

I think you did an excellent job of having a controlled celebration! 🙆🏻You had a few carbs and some wine and some food you like! 😘🎉Don't stress it! Stress just makes ypu gain weight. You looked marvellous and felt good too!😤So hang the scales!
