41 days to go
15.1 lbs to go
26g net carbs

So, another day, another dinner fail😞

OH was doing BBQ.. but after we'd done salmon, sweetcorn and potatoes for the kids, the charcoal burnt off too quickly..

So our chicken and chorizo kebabs were horrible, didn't bother doing the steak.

I had cheese and crackers, felt the need for fosters ( i rarely drink). Felt much better after having a 🍺. But it's probably not meant to wash down painkillers and other evening meds 😊( slaps own wrist)

Sitting here contemplating that I missed my perfect chance for 48 hour fast. Makes me quite annoyed with myself and grumpy 😡.. it was 930 pm by the time we gave up on the BBQ.. so that was my longest fast to date .. 27 hours, so it would have been relatively easy to go through to this morning/afternoon. Is this called a humph day??? 😉

Oh well, you live and learn

Got to get going on housework today, as tomorrow I'm out having my first ever helicopter ride 😁😁😁😁

Have a happy and productive Saturday fs friends 😎😎

Well done on the 27 hours fast. When you think that it makes the 25 grams of carbs in over a day - you did really well.

Thanks minitata.. I suppose that's a more positive way of looking at it.. I think tho I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and follow the example of yourself and others.. I'm quite limited physically at the moment, still waiting for back surgery and an ankle that's looks like a marshmallow ( I fell over 6 weeks today).. so I think I'm gonna have to do some longer fasts if I'm gonna shift weight in the next 40 days 🤔

At least you still lost some weight, so well done. Maybe you should change your goal to something more realistic and then you won't feel so panicked. If you're anything like me, when I think I've got more weight to lose than I realistically can, I start to panic, and when I panic I eat more. Not logical but I think I just rebel against myself (or the world or something - lol!). At the moment you are aiming to lose just over 2.5 lbs a week. My advice would be to aim for 0.2 lb a day, which is 1.4 lbs a week, which would take you down to 160.8 by the wedding (with a push you might be able to knock that 0.8 off). Wow about the helicopter ride. I've never been in one but then I'm scared of heights (I hate flying in planes too, even though it's a necessity at times). Enjoy! 😊

Thanks doobrie.. I know you're right but that so feels like failure 😞😞 I think I'll try hard and reassess when I have a month to go, so go on a big push for the next 10 days and try to get a longer fast in there somewhere 😁

Given your disabilities, etc, I don't think anybody would call that a failure! However, I can understand your wish to give it a big push, so go for it and see what you can do 🙂

Remember your changing body shape too. You may not be down in pounds to where you want to be, but take your measurements and see how those are, you will probably find that there's a good difference there.

Poppycom, I agree with everyone. A 27 hour fast is not a fail. AT ALL! I think you are doing great!! How cool ... a helicopter ride! Hubby and I went up on one at Myrtle Beach, SC a few summers ago. He is scared of heights, too ... but, it didn't bother him in the least!

The only fail I see in any of this is the kebabs not cooking properly and anyone who has BBQd has done that. You're doing amazingly well considering disabilities, the fall, the work problems and meetings that potentially would have seen you out of work. I agree with Doobs on reconsidering your target as I'm a bit like her when it comes to sabotaging my own efforts. Maybe it will help, maybe it won't but think about it. Getting out the tape measure is also a good bit of advice. You're doing better than you realise, I think but don't berate yourself for missing targets. Life is for living!

poppy, I've been following along on your journey and a few things come to mind...1. I don't ever consider a day a "failure" or not. Sometimes there are better choices I could have made, like "should I have eaten all those m & m's and butterfingers?" Ha, no BUT spending the day with family still makes it a great day, not a failure. 2. Fasting- I really have to PLAN when to fast. I'm not someone that just doesn't eat cuz things went off the rails! You went 27 hours!!! Great job, no sense in beating yourself up cuz you didn't go longer. You WANT to do a longer one, PLAN it when it is convenient for YOU! 3. I notice on your food diary you are usually under 1000 calories but the little asterisk is there meaning that is "some of what you ate". Are you weighing/measuring/logging every bite? I know exercise is out, but the food is THE MOST IMPORTANT THING! You CAN lose weight by diet alone. 4. Everyone needs a Foster's every now and again! Enjoy that helicopter ride!

Thanks all. Lost the measuring tape but will probably turn up over the weekend. Rckc.. I log every bite, except if it's eating out/estimating how much of a recipe I've eaten e.g. Stew, where I weight the total dish and my portion, but know it's not exact. I guess I'm jealous st disappointed with myself that thus target seemed achievable when I set it, so Despite all the nonscale victories/ changing my habits and thinking I feel I will fail. I wanted to look visibly different from last time I saw these relatives.. that was my motivation and now I can feel it slipping away, as I've tried so hard and not got the results I expected, just made excuses. 😔 Thanks for the support guys 😎

Edit : " just disappointed " .. I'm not the jealous type .. damn autocorrect 😉

Try on some clothes that you wore last time you saw them and see if there's any difference - I bet there is. No way are you failing - not with what you've lost already - 25th Feb you were 90.7 kilos - which to an oldy like me is 14 st 4 lbs. Now you're 76.7 kilos - 12 st 1 lb. That's over 2 stone - 28 lbs - 14 kilos - get a new tape measure and know that you will do it.

PS What weight were you last time you saw them?

Will try some clothes on.. 3 years ago I was 200lbs plus(2013/14), but I'd lost weight by the time I weighed in at 200lbs Last July at the last wedding I was 180 lbs, last Christmas I was 187 lbs So when I look at it, I have made progress.. when I was looking at wedding photos of last July, I saw myself on the edge of a group photo and had to enlarge it, as I was so ROUND I didn't recognise myself.. so I have to remind myself that I have changed shape.. will have to give myself a talking too, look back in my journals/weight history and remind myself I've made progress. Thanks minitata, I know u understand how frustrating limitations can be 👍👍

Matter24019.. the ice cold beer was WONDERFUL 😉🍻

We all have to give ourselves a talking too every now and then. Like others have said, you didn`t fail at your fast, you succeeded in fasting for 27 hours. 👍💐
