Good Monday morning, FS buddies!
I think I'm finally rested after my whirlwind trip to Disney and my sister's. I slept most of the day yesterday, and got another good 8 hours last night. Whew! Driving for 5 hours is tiring, especially when there are crazy people on the road. :/ And doing it twice in 3 days is exhausting!
So, on my birthday, we went to Animal Kingdom, because that's where the Avatar area is, and also where my brother-in-law works. Yeah, his uniform is as atrocious as was described, only moreso. LOL! Sis took me to guest services right away, and told them it was my B'day. They gave me a big pin that said "It's My Birthday", and wrote my name on it. EVERY cast member, from characters to security guards, wished me happy birthday!
We got there at 8 AM, and it was overcast and cool. YAY! Most of the rides we wanted to go on had virtually no wait time...except Avatar. Even right at opening time, the wait time was already 3 hours! My sister has an app on her phone that shows wait times for every ride in every park. Pretty nifty! I was surprised that she actually wanted to ride a fast roller coaster. Expedition Everest is a real YEE-HAAAAAAW ride!! Steep climbs, steeper drops, surprise stops, and backwards in the dark. WOW!
Long story short, we never did go to the Avatar rides. One reason was the wait times, but also, since sis has a season pass, she would have had to pay for a full-price ticket, because certain attractions are blacked out for locals during high season...which started the day we were there. :( But, that gives me a reason to go back in the fall, after high season, and when there a a LOT fewer people.
By about 2:30, it was blazing hot, and extremely humid, and I started feeling a little wobbly. We found an air conditioned place to sit to wait for my BIL to show up for work at 3.
We left shortly after that, and spent the rest of the afternoon in her pool. It was heaven!
Saturday morning, we got up early again, and she treated me to a pedicure at her favorite salon. I was badly in need! And the massage chair was the most complex one I've ever been in. It had wings on the sides of the backrest that would come out and squeeze my rib cage. It felt great!
I stayed mostly on plan with eating, in spite of my BIL insisting on Italian food the night I got there. I ordered mussels in marinara sauce. Of course, they came on top of a pile of linguine...but I resisted that. The garlic knots were tempting, too, but I reminded myself that, "Kes can NOT eat wheat!"
We also bypassed most of the park food on Friday, because 99% is carbs and sugar. We had lunch at the Rainforest Cafe, and split a Caesar salad and a steak and shrimp platter. The steak was a little tough, but everything tasted great. I did go a little off-plan on the drive home. I stopped at a BBQ place in Daytona, and I'm sure the BBQ sauce and cole slaw had sugar in them. Not a huge deal. And after walking 17,000 steps the day before, I'm sure it zero impact on my system. LOL! Vacation and a .8 lb drop is a win in my book!
Anyway, I'm glad to back home, sleeping in my bed with my kitties.
Have a great, successful week, buddies!

P.S. I was going to upload a photo of my BIL's uniform, but it won't let me, for some reason. Google "Dinoland costume shorts" if you want to see it. :D

Yes, your BIL's uniform looks pretty horrendous. Poor guy having to wear that! Anyway, you obviously had a brilliant weekend with your sister and amazingly lost weight - well done!
