Recording this morning's weigh in at the restart of my Keto plan. Knowing today would be the restart, the last couple of days, I really indulged in what would be off the table, including homemade sushi, and a few cookies. Again, nothing off-the-charts crazy, and still within the 23:1 IF, but indulgences nonetheless. So, yes, there's a little bump up, but the good news is that unlike past experiences with sushi, I haven't seen the dramatic 5-8 lb jump after it.
Today there was a wonderful presentation at the little heritage center in town, called "Homegrown Heroes: The Lowcountry in WWII", to mark the 75th anniversary of WWII. The band from the nearby Marine Recruit Training Depot (Parris Island) was there playing military marches, and a veteran's color guard paraded the colors. I have a special place in my heart for marches, and have to admit that I became very emotional and teared up.
The USO was also there, celebrating their 75th anniversary, as well. The chef I had gone there to see a few months ago was also there, cooking up fried chicken and cucumber salad, Gullah style. *groan* It smelled SO good! Thankfully, I had to leave to go to work before it was ready, so I escaped temptation.
But I found out that there will be Yoga classes at the center, starting in May, and at a time I can actually make. You bet I signed up! As a "senior", if I become a member of the center ($20/yr), the classes are free. The instructor is from Sun City, the big retirement community nearby, so her classes are flexible enough for all ability levels. Good thing, too, because MY flexibility has never been good!
Anyway, I'm back on it, and back to recording daily, until this last 15 (or so) is gone.
One of my coworkers' husband is a commercial fisherman, and today she gave me a couple of soft-shell blue crabs. I'll need to research what to do with them, but I'm really looking forward to trying them!
