Hmmmm...what a refilled digestive tract will do to you. LOL
It's so nice to have cream in my coffee again! I don't think I'll ever get used to black coffee.
So, the take-away from 91 hours fasting is mixed. It wasn't too bad, over all, until the last couple of hours. I didn't prepare properly for it, having been doing a couple of weeks of 23:1 intermittent just before. I was a little surprised that there wasn't a bigger drop in weight during that time, but I might have seen it if I would have pushed more water. To my mind, it's a delicate balancing act, getting enough water in vs. flushing electrolytes out. I did have minor muscle cramping in my lower legs and soles of my feet which was finally relieved by drinking olive juice. (A lot of people suggest pickle juice, but I don't usually keep pickles on hand)
As for benefits...that remains to be seen. I don't feel significantly different, but since it's said that the benefits are largely internal healing, I just have to trust that that occurred.
Will I do it again? Possibly, but better prepared.
Thank you, buddies, for your support and encouragement through this experiment!

Job well done. I think the longest I went was 6X hours and funny thing, I wasn't starving. I shouldn't have stared in that fridge or else my fast would have gone longer.

Are you glad you tried it? I think about it sometimes, but know I'm not ready. Today I might go for 24hrs., not sure yet it depends on if I get shaky getting up and down this morning. I thought about that inner healing, too. It's important so I hope a lot of really good things were going on for you.

LOL, Ches! Yeah, funny thing about staring in fridges, huh?

@Sue, Yes, I'm very glad I tried it. I would think that you've been doing keto long enough to be well on your way to being fat-adapted, which means you shouldn't have any trouble with low blood sugar. I'm pretty sure my problem was electrolytes. My suggestion is to just take the day hour by hour. When you get hungry, drink some water and wait for 20 minutes and reassess. If you get shaky or light-headed, eat.

wow - 91 hours - did you check your blood sugars during that time? did they stay ok?

LOL, Thanks Erika! My appetite seems better, too.

@PGM, no, I don't have a meter, but my blood sugar is necessarily low because I've been in ketosis pretty much continuously for about 4 months. The only glucose in my system is what my liver makes from my body fat.

@April, I expected to add back a few pounds. The goal of the fast wasn't as much rapid weight loss, as it was to push my body into cell repair (autophagy) and production of growth hormone, which adults normally don't produce. It is said to be rejuvenating for the tissues, and very healing. I certainly feel like I got rid of a lot of toxins! Always nice to hear from you, my buddy. :)

Weird. You netted a one pound gain 😰 Meanwhile, chesgreen and 52C are losing weight on chips and ice cream (probably, I haven't actually checked). Double you tee eff.

I know, right, Lady??? How are you doing? Did you go the whole 5 days?
02 Aug 16 by member: mskestrela
Yup. Breaking fast tomorrow 😊

Ladies and Ches, if you ever read a post by me saying I'm on a 5 day fast, call the cops! Somebody is holding the Cowboy hostage and inflicting upon him the cruel and unusual. Ask them to send in the S.W.A.T. team and maple bars!

You rock, Lady! I saw your post about making bone broth. Sleep well tonight, and enjoy your break fast tomorrow.

ROFL Cowboy!!!!!!!!!! I'm thinking the 5:2 is definitely a better plan for this kid!

I am going to break fast tonight. Grandkids are here running around, leaving leftovers. It's technically been 5 days.
