MommaCan's Journal, 12 Apr 24

I got the BEST possible results (in my opinion) from the stress test. I was nervous because they could not get my heart rate to the target BUT the results stated “overall the patient’s exercise capacity was above average for their age”. And I have over 70lbs to lose! The worry burden of my heart health is finally lifted! I have no excuses when it comes to either exercise or diet! I am going to reverse this weight and get off blood pressure meds! Life goals!

Been there in June 2021 ... You can save yourself some time ... Look on line for BMR - Basal Metabolic Rate calculator - then plan your caloric intake at 15% less than your BMR. That changes with future weight loss ... Look up hunger hormone & keep your protein level up over 50 grams per day ... And wish you much success. You can do this! 💖👍

The one thing my doctor never told me: how expensive new, smaller clothes could be! Lol I wore the old clothes as long as I could, but eventually had to buy smaller stuff. There’s only so much I can tailor out of a size 14 to make it a size 8, and some of the sportier styles can’t be cut down at all without destroying the garment’s overall look. Take the $$$ you are NOT spending on food and save it for smaller clothes! P.S. I’ve become a fan of thrift stores as a less $$$ alternative to buying new stuff. Pick a brand/size that you know fits (because you went to a regular store to try them on), and use that as a way to quickly sort through the thrift store merchandise. I’ve found jeans for under $10! It can be time consuming, so view it as part of your overall “health improvement” program.

One thing I noticed is that models usually size up a size or two in their photos. Makes them look even slimmer. Doesn't work for all clothes, but makes some look better, usually tops.
