pharoahmanda's Journal, 24 Apr 22

Hi all, first time in nearly 3 weeks that I’ve put my weight on. Although I’ve never met any of you LOL! I’m going to tell you why my eating has wobbled a bit. 14 days ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I’ve caught it in time and it’s treatable and has not spread to anywhere else in my body. 😁 As you can imagine the emotional eating had kicked in to try and drown my worries initially whilst waiting for results on the tests etc. It hasn’t spread so this is the best possible outcome. Obviously I have to have the lump removed and treatment too, possible chemo or radiotherapy, not sure which yet. So more than ever I need to keep my eating sensible (wow what an incentive eh! 🙈) so I’m back on track. I’m so so glad that I had already lost over 25kgs over the last 2 years to face this, it could have been a lot harder fatter 😐 I do question the universe in that why it repays me this way after eating properly, exercising and doing all the things that science says to do to stay healthy and then I get cancer 😬 but anyhoo I’m thankful for every new day and so glad I was regularly checking my breasts. So a message to all of you, keep eating healthily you never know what is around the corner, check you breasts and under arms frequently, there are one on 5 women who will get this and also 1% of men will too (yes men get it too) I thought it wouldn’t happen to me and I have no family history either. It can happen to any of us. Sorry for the long post. 😌 my eating is back under control and will update you wonderful people as I go along. Stay strong and positive in your weight loss journey. Let nothing stop you and most of all stay positive, I am.

I understand, I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer last November and like you it was caught early with no spread. But I did find myself eating all the stuff I know I shouldn’t plus there was Christmas just after my operation . All clear now. Please look after yourself and be kind to yourself too, it’s a stressful time. I am sure it will all be fine 😊😍🥰
