Do you monitor how many calories you burn a day or number of steps you do? Since my accident my number dropped so I find I’m chasing ways to increase one and the other. This app, for me at least doesn’t really add calorie usage up correctly.

for me snacking is leathal as it soon becomes a habit and my belly looks for it. it may be helpful to zigzag your calorie intake and add some healthy fat to your meals as fat keeps you feeling fuller for longer. if you can keep your eating window to 8hours this should help too. good luck Annmarie, you can do this ❤️

I used a different app to track calories being burnt and the gym apps or running apps especially if you have fit bits help make it more accurate. BMI stuff is a joke as I’m technically obese because of my weight and I’m certainly not! So long as I’m burning more than I’m eating I’m on the right track. Snacking is good unless it’s snacking in boredom which is my weakness. Drinking a lot of water helps

Sometimes I have to remind myself that its not just losing weight thats going on. First the body has to stop putting weight on, then stabilise itself, then start losing. It is easy to get disheartened in the first 2 stages and give up before you reach the losing stage. (crash dieting goes straight to the 3rd stage which isn't good for overall health)

Annmarie - don't lose heart. I know I have only been at this a very short time but I NEVER thought I would have such success so quickly. I have tried cutting down in the past but it has never helped me so I have had to make the decision to try really hard. I have NO will-power or self-control so I am amazed I have been able to stop myself snacking. My staff at work cannot believe I am not getting through a packet of biscuits every other day which shows how bad I got BUT that it can be done. Stick with it and try eating at different times to help you feel fuller. I have been looking at everything I eat and found Tesco have chunky cod fillets which, with frozen chips (airfryer or oven) and frozen peas works out at just over 500 calories and the fat content is not too bad. That will give me a lovely treat and fill me up, so it's a case of checking to get that balance. I dont like eggs - (other than in quiche) yep I am a funny so and so - so dont eat omelette which would help fill me, but yesterday when I cooked one for hubby a bit broke off and I munched on it. My taste MUST be changing as I liked it. 58 years old and I havent eaten eggs since I was three but now maybe, just maybe.... lol Wiggy's comment about BMI is right - according to his BMI my hubby is obese, but if he went down to 'correct weight' he looks and is ill. Likewise, I should be under 70kg. At that level I get comments from people asking if I am unwell.... BMI is an oversimplification. I am sure some medics would say I am trying to justify my overweight. Don't be disheartened and whatever happens dont give up - you CAN do it. C
