mskestrela's Journal, 27 Nov 16

I've been binge-watching a travel vlogger all weekend, amidst doing laundry and other sundry chores. A young guy, in his mid-30's who travels the world to eat. And eat he does! He's rail thin, Hawaiian by birth, lives in Thailand and married to a Thai woman. Between them, they eat more food in a single day than I do in a heavy week! Yes, they are active, but OMG, the food they consume!
Anyway, one of the things they eat most is Asian noodle bowls. They all look so good, and inspired me to make my own version with what I had in the pantry and fridge. Yeah, I had the same reaction to it as he does in his videos. Pork, spinach, onions, mushrooms, carrots, Napa cabbage, broth, soy sauce, fish sauce, sesame oil, and angel hair pasta. SO tasty!!!
I'm experimenting again with higher carb intake. So far, the noodles haven't caused heart flutters, an hour after eating. This is a good sign!
It was also my one meal of the day, after IF of +/-27 hours. I'm out of KetoStix, so I have no idea if it knocked me out of ketosis or not. But I suspect not, because of my new tolerances. At any rate, it was an incredibly satisfying meal, a true feast.
We'll see, over the next few days, if the noodles bump up my weight.
If you're interested in seeing what I've been watching, his channel is: Mark Wiens
Have a great week, my buddies!

If the heart flutters come back try rice noodles. They should work wonderfully.

Thanks for the link, Kes. Mark really does love everything he eats doesn't he? I watched his first one but he was eating fish and shrimps which made me feel quite ill - lol!

@Maine Coon, happy to share! I love traveling, and travel shows. @PizzaLover, I did try a water fast. Made it to 91 or 92 hours, but ended up quite ill because it threw my electrolytes out of whack. @Char, I scoured his blog to find out where he is from, his heritage, etc, and got nothing! I stumbled on one of his older videos when he was in Hawaii, and it had his grandmother in it. She looks Japanese. I know he went to University in Arizona, though. I'm so curious about how he speaks Thai like a native! And yes, almost everything he eats looks awesome! @Rhontique, so far, no major bumps in weight or heart flutters. I know rice will put on 5-7 lbs over 3 days after I eat it, so I suspect rice noodles will do the same. @Doobs, he does consume a lot of animal protein, but he also loves vegetarian food. And I've dubbed his reaction, "The Wiens Lean"...LOL @MrsMaths, he's a very likable guy. His wife, Ying, is SO cute. They just had their first child, Micah.
