For the first time since I started this journey, I feel totally famished! The calories aren't keeping me going. Any advice? Is this normal after losing 30 pounds (yay! ) I'm really confused at this point about what to do.

Depends on your Macros (carbs, fat, Protein) Whats a standard meal for you?

Our bodies can mis-interpret thirst for hunger, you might try drinking some water and see if it has an effect. Otherwise if you're just really hungry and low on energy, I'd suggest eating something to alleviate that, that is also healthy. I'd suggest staying away from simple or processed carbs, something with protein, good fats are also ok. Do you like avocados? That's a good choice but there are many others too.

Adding more fats will increase satiety, and keep you feeling full longer.

Thanks for the feedback! I think I'll add more fat and watch calories. Could be work stress or too much working in the yard in the ridiculous heat. Or maybe I'm getting used to feeling my stomach again.

You have a huge calorie deficit today. I would be famished too especially if you are doing that almost everyday.

@jparlett...you really think so? I aim for 1250 calories a day and lose about a half a pound a week. I'm over 1000 calories already and that's without dinner : (

Need to keep up your calories. your body requires a certain amount just to keep moving as normal. don't be afraid to eat or snack just make sure they are healthy choices. good job on the weight loss.

If you are not properly fat adapted, and you cut your calories to VLCD levels you will be famished. If you are NOT eating enough HIGH FAT foods, you WILL be famished and very hungry. Try starting your day with Coconut oil and butter, and say goodbye to hunger. I am not joking. Also, carbs spike insulin which CRANKS up hunger for the rest of the day. But for 169 pounds, 1250 calories is fine. Im 331 pounds and I eat 1200 calories a day now. But I eat 70% fat also and I am NEVER hungry.

@8hunter6 avocados make me want Doritos : ) I actually bought the low carb rye bread and its amazing! (just chewier due to all the fiber). Good advice on the coconut oil, was adding to my coffee for awhile but slacked off : (

I agree with hunter... if i get the hungries, a half an avo and some cucumber (or bacon) do the trick.
