At 7 weeks into a Keto lifestyle, I'm convinced this is the way I will live for the rest of my life. The first month was plagued by craving and feelings of 'future' deprivation. Never another baguette?? No more piles of pasta Carbonara?
Then suddenly, magically, I just didn't care any more. I think it helped to start seeing those foods in the store and thinking, "That's not food, it's poison!"
But I have a question for my fellow Keto warriors: Have you had an issue with nosebleeds from this?
I did the other morning, and it was massive! I woke up because I had to keep swallowing. It felt like just sinus drainage, but very liquid. When I sat up, blood just poured out of my left nostril! I got it stopped pretty quickly, and didn't have a problem until I went to take a nap in the afternoon. I hadn't been lying there for more than a few minutes, when it started again.
I've never been prone to nosebleeds before, so this is pretty disconcerting. I googled "Keto diet nosebleeds" and saw several posts in Keto and body building forums that were asking the same question.
From what I've researched, it seems that Potassium deficiency might be the culprit. I do eat a few avocados a week, and they are a good source, but I'm wondering if I need a supplement.
