First time in memory, non-scale victory...I HAVE THIGH GAP!!!!
Today was a busy day around the house. I did a lot of things I've been avoiding for a while, like deep cleaning the kitchen, putting down new flooring, measuring the shed door that was damaged in hurricane Matthew (to go get a new one) and a few others. This evening, I was walking around the house, and something felt...weird. For the first time I can remember in my life, my thighs weren't rubbing together! I actually put my hand down between them, and sure enough, there was a space between my upper thighs. Whoa!
A little history: I was a skinny child, until I was about 6. I did't have much of an appetite, which worried my mother. We lived in Colombia at the time, and she took me to a local doctor, who determined that I was deficient in vitamin B. He put me on a couple of supplements, which caused me to become ravenous. 6 months later, I was probably close to being clinically obese. Since then, I've struggled with weight issues, with the exception of the 80's, when I was a cocaine addict. When I got clean, I got fat. I obviously don't remember a lot about the time I was thin in the 80's, nor did I really care about thigh gap. :/
But today, for the first time I can remember, my thighs don't rub together when I walk. I can wear shorts, and not have them bunch up in my crotch. I can walk, and not get a rash.
I feel like I'm walking into uncharted territory, sweat-and rash-free!
I remain, raw and unedited,
~Kes

Makes all the dieting so worth it when you can wear shorts without having them ride up between your thighs. Big congrats, big applause!

Congratulations, that is a wonderful Ah Ha moment, when you notice that all of your "work" has finally become noticeable to YOU. Others tend to notice our loss, but when we finally realize, WOW, it is really working, well, we are all ready to pat ourselves on the back. WTG, keep it up!!!

Thank you everyone! It is really quite stunning when you get there. Yes, I have a belly flap (apron) that won't go away unless I get it cut off. Yes, I have "bingo wings" that are, likewise, permanent unless they are removed. Neither of those things are even remote options. Hello, Spanx! LOL! I feel good, I know the road ahead, and I'm sure I'll never go back to the fat girl I was.

Mskestrela, we all probably have that wonderful "apron" but hey, at least we can see it and know that it is there, because we are succeeding in our goals, right?
