LOST 2 MORE INCHES AROUND MY HIPS!
So unofficial weigh-in concludes that I am 196.4 this a.m., which is down .2 lbs from yesterday's 196.8. I had a mini splurge last Thursday as it was Beer Thursday at work, and my mother and I decided to share a small dessert. The dessert was not planned, especially since I chose to forego my usual "fatter-day" because of this weekends excursion to the Palouse Falls, and Walla Walla. But, as splurges go it made very little dent calorically. However, I did gain 1.8 lbs in water weight and learned that for the most part, I'm a 2 drink minimum girl now. I still stuck to my one 12 ounce beer, but had a martini when I met my mom at our favorite bar. Can, I just say I felt totally drunk after that martini.
You're talking to a girl that use to be able to take down 4-5 drinks in one night in order to get drunk or feel that buzzed. And, another weird thing is that that I really didn't like the feeling. I've actually grown used to the surplus energy I have lately. It allows me to get so much more done.
Anyhow, I'm only down .2 lbs from Thursday's "drink/dessert" day and I noticed my rings were still markedly tight when I woke up this a.m., even though I took down about 4 liters of water yesterday. I kept wondering why my body is holding onto the water. I noticed I did't pee as much as I normally do when drinking that much water.
And, then it hit me I remember telling my mom, I got a mini little sun burn yesterday from hanging out on the back deck with my gold finches and chickadees. AH HA! lol
But, this is a good time to report some factors, aside from today and tomorrows excursions that will be affecting the scale in the coming 3 months.
I live in a very coniferous and dry area of the pac northwest. We are also at a higher altitude than most, so getting sun burns out here is easy, even for a girl that tans. Trust me when I say, the body will hold onto 4-5 lbs of water out here in the summer at any given time and one MUST carry a water bottle with them. It's actually dangerous not to because it's so easy to get heat exhaustion in 80 -90 degree temps. You don't even know you're losing moisture, because your sweat evaporates quickly.
So, the bottom line is to remember not expect miracles from the scale.
Also, I may gain a half a pound from this weekend's excursion. I don't plan on going crazy but restaurant food is what it is and there will likely be appetizers and a dessert split between my mother and I at supper times. I did however, pack my weights so I'm glad I will be able to squeeze in at least part of a workout on Sunday at the hotel.
My goal is to be health minded this weekend, AND enjoy myself as well! I probably won't do another "official" weigh in until next Thursday when I'm close to being back on a consistent routine.
Have a wonderful memorial day weekend, everyone!
