mskestrela's Journal, 02 Nov 16

Well, I had big plans for the unexpected day off today. The ex is coming over for dinner and backgammon, so I figured I'd get caught up on some deep cleaning chores.
So much for plans. I get up to an urgent message on Facebook from a co-worker I've mentioned here before. It seems a dear friend of hers died suddenly and the pastor who was supposed to officiate the funeral backed out suddenly. She remembered that I'm ordained, and wants me to officiate at a graveside funeral tomorrow. EEK!!!!
I've never done a funeral before..and only been to one memorial. So, I got to spend most of the day googling how to do the freakin' thing. I didn't know the lady in question, so had to get tons of information from the co-worker, then cobble together some sort of service.
So much for plans for the day!
Lunch yesterday was combination egg drop/wonton soup. Filling, but caused some heart flutters. Oh, yeah, Dummy! Wonton wrappers are made from wheat flour! I. Cannot. Eat. Wheat! Dammitall. No wonder the scale was up 3 pounds this morning. Grrr.
At least fasting is clearing the effects quickly. It will have been about 29 hours by the time we dine.
I'm still in Beast 3.0 mode, and dinner tonight will be steamed Tanner crab clusters with grilled asparagus with garlic butter and lemon juice, and a Caesar salad. Keto friendly all the way! And I'm getting good and hungry. :)
I hope your Wednesday was less surprising than mine!

Best wishes for you tomorrow, and you're so amazing for being able to put something together on such short notice! Such a huge heart you have!!! THAT is what will make all the difference in the world, the love and care you put into it will surely shine through and be such a blessing and comfort to those present. Take care of yourself, sweetie!

So glad you can help your friend out tomorrow. Having a graveside service with nobody to officiate would have been so sad for friends and family. It's amazing all of the places where wheat can sneak up on you but you're right, Beast Mode will help the weight come off quickly. Good luck tomorrow.

Thank you, my friends, for your encouraging comments. @Char, there is no family present, but she was loved by many friends...I will let them tell her life story. @April, I sweated my a$$ off cleaning today! LOL! @Mrs Maths, I did get your messages, and love you for them. the co-worker sent me a great obituary/eulogy, which I encouraged her to read herself tomorrow. She will do so, and it will be beautiful. @Kimberly, dinner was fun and I will do the best I know how tomorrow. @Heidi and Pickles, Thank you! I feel that it's a mandate from the Universe. I go where I'm called. @Roobert, thank you. When the Spirit is strong, all is well. @Sue, thank you. You are right on all points. I'm honored to officiate at beginnings as well as endings.

The spirit world opens wide to receive those who are passing over. We are graced to feel the light shining through. If you've been called to be there, I'm sure there's a reason. Blessings on you for this event, Kes.

@Lady, my co-worker seems to think that God orchestrated everything to turn out just exactly right. She gave me a huge hug at work today, and has started calling me "Reverend" at work. LOL! Holy Haircut, anyone?

Laughing my socks off! Well, I could certainly do with a haircut!
