mskestrela's Journal, 10 Sep 16

Busy day at work yesterday, booked back to back to back all day! I hadn't planned any time to eat, so I had my bulletproof coffee before work, and planned to fast until dinnertime. The folks at the nail salon next door changed that plan by hosting a mega-cookout in the back parking lot for their staff and ours. Grilled shrimp, corn on the cob, BBQ chicken wings, hot dogs and burgers, and all the trimmings.
I had such good energy that I ran ahead of schedule, and was able to take a few minutes to have a couple of the giant shrimp and a lettuce wrapped burger.
I was SO tired after work, I came home and was ready for bed by 8 PM. I've decided that people just wear me out. LOL
Today won't be as busy, but still long.
So, another little loss today. I had been bouncing up and down all week, but since I started adding MCT oil to the BPC, it seems to have started the downhill slide again. Interesting!
Have a wonderful Saturday, buddies!

I like my coffee extra in the morning. I missed it for a week! I add 2 T coconut oil 2T or more of heavy cream, cinnamon, 1 T unsalted butter and a dash of salt put it in the magic bulletin and yum!

MCT is very refined coconut oil, so the MCTs normally found in regular coconut oil are concentrated. @Rhontique and @Writergal, you can order it online through Amazon, or at netrition dot com. BUT! I saw something at WalMart that was labeled, "Liquid Coconut Cooking Oil", and when I read the label, sure enough, it's the same thing as the 'branded' MCT oil! And about half the price, too. It's flavorless, unlike the unrefined coconut oil.

A word of warning on the MCT oil, though...Work up to the quantities slowly to allow your digestive tract to get used to it, or there will be a 'disaster pants' situation! I started with a tsp, then added another tsp a day until I'm at 2 Tbs. per coffee.

@Kathleen, good for you on the MCT oil. I'm amazed at the boost in energy and mental clarity. I'm definitely an introvert, too. I'm what is known as a 'social loner', meaning I like people, but can only take them is small doses, and need alone time to recover from the interaction.

Interesting side note: the weigh in I recorded was right after getting up for the day. I had my BPC, and weighed before getting into the shower. Normally, when I do that, my weight goes up .5-1 pound. This morning, it was down a full pound from my first. Is it the MCT? I dunno, we'll see what the scale says tomorrow.

I like the word "social loner" WOW, now I know what I am :-) I like people also, but don't do very well in crowds after a while and also can only take limited doses of groups :-) and I love, love, love my alone time. I talk to myself, answer myself and have good conversations with me and my cats of course and the ocean of course and the trees, etc :-) even the empty room that was my moms and dads, some of their stuff is still there so I feel their 'presence', just not sure of what my reaction would be if they 'answered' lol :-) Good day to you Msketreia, I'm so happy to be back on track and here after last weekends 'tripup'

I guess I'm a social loner, too. I like people and I like meeting and talking to people, but I love my alone time and don't get lonely. A lot of people don't understand people like us.

Wow, there are apparently quite a few of us social loners! @Misty and @Draglist, thank you. @JMA, I'm glad you're back on track, too! We all trip from time to time, but as long as we keep getting up, we will get there. @Sue, You're right, but that's ok, I can't understand people who have to be with somebody all the time, even if it's the WRONG somebody.

Finally, I know how to describe it - Social loner. Yep that's it. Thanks you all for that one. Good luck on your efforts today.

Question - If coconut oil is the source for Medium Chain Triglycerides, then what is MCT? What is it's source?

@Airspree, MCT oil is refined coconut oil, so the MCT's are concentrated, meaning you can use less volume to get the same amount of MCT's.
