Brad Pilon's research on all of the studies about fasting and how it impacts women, showed that it's slightly less effective in women (guys ALWAYS get the best benefit out of any diet plan *she sticks her tongue out for emphasis, lol!*) But it works well for women too. Women do need to be careful and heed their menstruation cycle's warnings. If things slow or stop you need to add more food and cut down on fasting and/or see your doctor.
