Well, I took some time to think and swept my sidewalk clean.
Caretaking is my biggest bugaboo and it needs to stop.
I love my life right now ☺

My sister got so stressed from taking care of my mother, she did herself in. I had no idea what it was doing to her. She was blaming herself for our mother's decline.

It's a twisted kind of deal. It's about externalizing ones need for love and acceptance. Ironically, caretaking is not the same as caring. I don't know your sister's situation, but I am willing to bet there were alternatives available to spread the burden (home health care, community support options, you), and she consistently made reasons not to seek help. Very sorry you lost your mom. It's something we never really get over.

Oh, no! So very sorry. I lost a brother to suicide and it is so heart wrenching. As I go on with my life I feel my brother beside me and my mother surrounding me.
