Food for thought....

1kg of pure fat = 9000 calories therefore one could assume if you burn 313 calories per hour slow walking, it will take you 28 hours of walking to burn of 1kg.

Having a bit of a forrest gump moment.

Then you would have to eat in the 28 hours and sleep. If you walked from Lands End to John o Grouts and ate a.healthy diet, what you weigh?

LE 2 JOG is 847 miles @ 4mph = 212hrs of walking. Of which 14hrs walking per day = 15.2 days, allowing 2hrs eating & 8 hours of sleep. M avg consumes 2500 cals per day, F avg 1700 cals per day. 14hrs @ 313 calories burned = 4382 spent calories a day less daily intake = (M 1882 - F 2682) average spent calories per day. N.B. 313 calories per hr of walking is a guide and not true for all forms of size and gender. Total excess cals burned over 15 days = M 28,230 - F 40,238 / 9000 = M 3.14kgs - F 4.47kgs loss of weight through walking. This does not seem a lot for the effort but the two figures used for above calculations are theoretical. 313 per hr, and 1kg = 9000 calories.
