Katsolo's Journal, 19 May 24

Did a lot yesterday. Cleaned, swam, walked, watched half a movie and cooked a decent dinner. Today, going to try for another swim - it’s so much easier when it’s sunny. Do need to get to the car wash. Missed it last week and it’s filthy. Will probably take the dogs so they have an adventure other than walking. I really want to take them to the beach, but Summer is so erratic that I don’t think I can take her off leash. Shasta was that way, too, unless we were alone, then she was amazing. Chance is moping because he’s not allowed to bark at the dogs next door.

Got a chest strap to use with the rower; I want to see what the watch is missing when it cuts out. I think it’s because of how I flex my wrists when I’m rowing, but it’s irritating, so this seemed like a simple fix. Had tuna for dinner last night. Someone at Costco figured out that they will sell more if the packages are <$20 rather than $35. I’m still making that at least four servings and trying to get six per package.

One of the dogs took their baby outside on the deck and it’s the same color as Sadie was. Made me do a double take as it just makes me sad. I still just really miss her sweet smiling eyes. Life goes on and so must we.

Swim was solid, my arms and shoulders were most definitely tired last night. 884 strokes, 10.7 METS. Nothing else comes close to that level of exertion for me. Guess that means I need more of it. Maybe I’ll try an hour of hard rowing some day, but not there yet. I looked at the stats from my walk with friends on Tuesday. It’s meandering. Not a walk. Might just give that up or break off mid way and up the speed.

Blob up, muscle down, go figure.
