IT IS MAY It is starting out with kind of biting cold. A bit of a sour note. So I will follow suit. Going to post some sour notes this months to remind myself why I am poor at maintaining. One reason is I talk myself into eating... I need to go over my excuses and cop-outs this month.

So AGREE! It's not like poor eating choices make me feel better. Usually I feel angry that I sabotaged myself. I really need to think about that before I put the food in my grocery cart or bring it into my house, NOT when I am stressed and making food choices. If it's not easily accessible I'm stronger.

lol…”I deserve this” is tame. What about “I have a silly relationship with food all the time” lol? It’s all fun and games until you realize you’re a sucker for the system…working on it lol! Jokes aside, it definitely happens. It doesn’t help that people may tell you that eat “healthy” when you don’t, just because it’s a comparison…anything even slightly better than average in my country, is “healthy,” except it’s not. It also doesn’t help that…you have to change how you view food, and not just what you eat…or else you dread changing what you eat, and fall back into old habits if you can even change in the first place without changing your language around food.

I play that game with myself sometimes…occasionally I win and don’t indulge but I’ve had moments when I give in…my excuse is usually something like, I work hard at my fitness journey, I deserve this….then I feel all guilty etc. The worst is when I indulge and it isn’t as tasty as I remember!

Good thoughts people. Food is such a weakness for me. I saw chocolate this morning and I stretched my hand out to eat it. Chocolate for breakfast is a true high for me and also how I got to 200 lbs about 9 years ago. I deserve to feel good but food cannot be my only way. Shifting my mind is right...It has to happen or I will be back up in weight

Agreed! I almost was about to excuse a day of extra calories on only day three without binging! Yes I am honest about “binging,” even though it sounds like an extreme term, because scientifically, a binge is a lot less than what the media thinks it is, and can consist of healthy-ish or even healthy food, and doesn’t have to be enough to gain two pounds permanently in a day like what the media calls a “binge.” Scientifically, a “binge” is less than you’d think, so I call it what it is. I may be wrong since I’m not a therapist, but…(?) Less than 1,700 it is today!
