Fritzy 22's Journal, 02 Oct 23

I got the Covid booster this morning at 11:15. Now I am just waiting for the side effects to kick in. I've had 4 or 5 of them, the last one a year ago. Except for the original injection I've gotten chills and a fever and felt lousy for about 2 days. Usually it starts the day after the shot.

After I got the shot I went to Jimboy's Tacos since I was so close. I got 2 tacos, no soda. I ALWAYS get a coke when I go to Jimboy's but for the last 2 or 3 weeks I don't want them. I think the sodas are the reason I had stomach issues on my last trip to Oregon and Washington and it happened again about 2 weeks ago. I had planned on the lunch and worked it into my daily calories and THEN.............
when I went to Winco last week I bought a Keebler's graham cracker crust and a box of jello's banana cream pudding mix. Cooked the pudding and poured it into the crust. I do this about 4 times a year. Usually I eat the whole thing in 2 days. But I am really, really trying to lose a pound a week. I should have resisted making it. But, since I was kinda bored waiting for the chills and fever to start I gave in. I did have a small piece of the pie, not 1/4 or 1/3 like I normally do. I tried to log it and am not sure how accurate I was. It really doesn't matter because whatever the calories I ate it. Hope to make it last 3 days at least. Well if it isn't gone in 3 days I'll throw whatever is left into the garbage.

The weather has been so nice and cool, just like you would expect this time of year. It's getting cold at night - I even brought out my flannel comforter. But it's supposed to get warm again, to the high 80's for about 5 days.

Update at 6:45am. Still no side effects from the Covid booster but it usually takes a day or longer. Right now I have a big knot at the injection site. Got very little sleep last night. Seems like I would sleep for no more than 45 minutes and then wake up.

We are still waiting on our covid booster. We just got the flu shot and the RSV vaccine. Tacos sound good! Hot here still but a cool off is coming on Thursday.

Sounds like good napping weather! Catch a few winks to get you through some side effects! Hopefully milder symptoms for you this time😌

Thanks Morticia. The pharmacy ran out of the vaccine when I had my first appointment so I was glad it was available yesterday. The tacos are good and Jimboy's is a franchise just in the Sacramento to Tahoe area. I'll miss them when I move out of the area so I will probably stop there for lunch more often. I can work 2 tacos into my calorie allowance. it was really chilly early this morning, but it has warmed up. I think we only have a couple more weeks with the warmer temperatures

Thanks Foody! I wish I could have gone back to sleep once I got up to feed the dog and cats. Even though I'm really tired I usually can't go back to sleep once I'm up. I'm trying to get laundry done and get the house clean before I leave on vacation next week. So far no fever or chills

Oh Fritzy, it is soo easy to make your own banana cream pie, you don’t have to use a box of mix. Add some real banana. If you make your own you can use a 6 inch or even a 4 inch pie pan— no temptation to overindulge, no waste and a totally awesome tasting pie that is so easy to make. 15 -30 minutes tops.

I hope this booster will not have usual side effects for you. Your pie sounds good! I'm not a big fan of bananas ( I know that's weird..) but in a pie it's ok. 🩷🩷

Thanks Kenna,I remember watching my mom make pies. I'm not good at baking, don't really like to cook much. I wrote I do this 3 or 4 times a year but actually it's probably once a year, if that.

Thanks Diana. So far I just have a headache, something I never get. If I get through tonight without a fever I will be okay. I'm not crazy about bananas but I like slicing them up in oatmeal and some cold cereals that I rarely eat any more - rice crispies, corn flakes

Fritzy — are you eating the memory of how good a banana cream pie is or are are you REALLY enjoying that Jello pudding mix pie?. If you are totally enjoying every morsel go for it, or are you settling and just wasting calories?

Tacos from Jimboys, very nice. Side affects kick in yet? If they did hope you recover quickly!

Thanks Daddy. I got Jimboys again since I went to town to pick up a Papa Murphy's take and bake pizza for the house sitter. Just got to Oregon. Side effects weren't too bad but one thing new was a huge red we!t and rash at the injection site that is finally going away
