Accidentally missed my 3-mile walking goal yesterday. I’ve been walking 2.5 to 2.8 miles during the day and when I get up in the night (usually sometime between 9-11pm), I finish the last couple tenths to make the three miles. Last night, I went to bed after doing 2.8 miles, but I didn’t wake up until 11:59! WAH! Oh well, no biggie. From now on, I’ll make sure I FINISH my walking before going to bed. Today, I’m going to strive to get in FOUR miles for the first time since surgery on 7/27. I’m not going to do my PT exercises (I only “have to” do two sets of them them 3x a week, but I’ve been doing them every day). Yesterday, I bought some Entenmann’s PopEm’s Donut Holes BOGO. I only got the Glazed ones, though, instead of the Rich Frosted Chocolate, which I LOVE! Little steps forward.

Since surgery, I’ve only been walking 1/2 mile at a time. Before surgery, I was walking a mile at a time, and it took about 25 minutes per mile. Just walked a whole mile, and it “only” took me 33 minutes. I thought I was going to be a lot slower than that, especially since I’m still using the Rollator. Small victories!

What I find is that when I eat refined sugar, I crave even more of it, but when I stop eating it, I stop craving it. Does it do that to you?

I think it does do that to me, also, Shirley. I also find that when I eat fresh fruit I crave that.

I'm so carb sensitive that even too many veggies sets me up for cravings. I can't eat fruit salad anymore, unless I accept a week of battling carb cravings.

Don't get me wrong; I love my food. I had salmon and bacon for dinner. I've just figured out what keeps me on track.
