I struggled about what to have for dinner tonight. At first, I was going to have two slices of Dave's Killer Good Seed bread toasted with butter, because that's what I really WANTED. I ate the one slice, and then re-evaluated and decided to have a Quest Chocolate Chip Cookie Protein/Fiber Bar. With the two slices of toast and butter, my total Fiber for the day would have been 21.3. With the bar, it is 30.3. With the toast, my Cholesterol would have been 155 (which is acceptable), but by subbing out the 2nd slice and inserting the bar, it was only 110. My protein WITH the Quest bar was 60.44 (13%), instead of only 44.63 (9%) with the double toast. Calories with the two slices of toast were 1,872. With the Quest bar instead, they were only 1,777. I feel like I made a good choice. NOW, I need to resist getting up in the middle of the night and having that 2nd slice of toast! With God's help, I can do it.
