well I did go off my woe yesterday a little bit, maybe more than 'a little' but at least not as much as I could have & have done in the past, so I figure that is a small plus. Today starts a new day and so far so good. I do have to go to the grocery store to stock up on foods allowed on my mayo 'clinic' / grapefruit diet and after the last of my family leave today, hoping to pack up most of the foods not allowed on my plan with them, if not the left overs will go in the garbage rather than in my mouth! Fortunately there is not much left. I probably need to send the remaining beer with my son but again, I would like to help him cut down also, so I'll just put them in the small downstairs frig and try to forget that they are there. That might be easier than forgetting the bottle of cab in the cabinet! I think I'll do ok with that being there for now anyway.
The one thing I really don't like about this diet is you can't eat between meals, which is my downfall. I am a snacker/grazer but it will be good for me to attempt to limit foods to 3 meals 1 snack at night. You can eat as much as want at meals so that might help. We will see. I started to list my meals yesterday, but don't think I'll do that at least for now. Basically it is grapefruit (8oz juice or 1/2 fruit) Breakfast (B), Lunch (L) & Dinner (D). Also for B; 2 eggs 2 bacon, for L; in addition to grapefruit have salad (any dressing) and meat, for D; in addition to GF have salad or cooked vegie (green or red) and meat. Bedtime snack tomato juice or skim milk. Limit caffeinated coffee/tea to 1 per meal. You can use butter & mayonnaise, some vegies are 'no nos' like starchy ones. And you need to drink a lot of water. I'm adding herb teas in-between meals. Since that helps curb my appetite.
