Debbie Cousins's Journal, 06 Jul 22

2nd day of my new diet plan went well. No, I can't call it a "lifestyle" or "way of eating" yet - that will come with time. Ended the day with 1,691 calories, almost made fiber goal (19.6/20), drank 13 eight-oz. bottles of water (104 ounces), ONLY drank three 12-oz cans of Diet Coke.

Things got very stressful right before going to the pool - my grand daughter, at 11, has become quite hormonal and gets upset over NOTHING. I was at the point of leaving for the pool with just my grandson, when she finally started to calm down and cooperate. During the drama, I wanted VERY much to grab a Diet Coke, but I didn't.

When I packed all the food and drinks for the pool, I didn't even pack a single Diet Coke! I ended up drinking 8 cups of water at the pool. My Diet Coke "schedule" is to have one in the morning (6:30) with my breakfast, one in the afternoon (between 12-2, when we have lunch), and one at 3:30 or 4 with dinner. Maybe in the future, I'll cut down the amount even further; but, for now, I'm very satisfied with just cutting down.

Weight down another 6/10 of a pound this morning! Knee only hurting at about 25% of what it was. Maybe I'll be ambitious and get a few things done around the house today!

Best wishes for everyone to have a great Wednesday!

I understand all too well!! I have a tendency to use Diet Coke as a crutch as well. As long as your drinking your water and staying on top of your calories, you should give yourself credit for "cutting back." Progress, not perfection!

Oh, and I have a hormonal, surly 10-year old, so I feel your pain.
