Can anyone explain the theory/process of losing weight while sleeping. I don’t believe I ever heard of this concept before. I don’t have any sleep issues, if anything I sleep too much. I would love an explanation.

So it’s not that you are losing weight while sleeping but that getting an adequate amount of sleep allows your stress hormones to go down making your body more willing to cycle through some of those sugar/fat stores. Sleep let’s you build more muscle- more muscle = more calories used for muscle = less fat. Adequate sleep also keeps your mood more stable = less emotional eating. Overall you aren’t losing more weight while sleeping but just making sure your body is in the best possible state so that you can be successful

Because we are sleeping the body works hard to keep us breathing and all organs functioning as a whole. So it burns calories 😊

I rarely eat while sleeping so that helps. I've done it, but rarely.

Your metabolism continues to run, even when sleeping. When your body uses (burns) stored fat, you exhale the byproduct, CO2. This happens whether you are sleeping or awake.

If you don't get enough sleep, your body will produce cortisol which will cause you to gain weight.

Cortisol is the stress hormone. So, not enough sleep makes your body feel stressed.
