Went completely off the rails over Christmas & New Year!!!
I'm not upset or angry with myself but I'm really going to HAVE to get the finger out now!!!
☆ This is long winded but is mostly for my own accountability but if it helps anyone else get motivated in the process, then that's all the better. 😊

I've a size 12 Matron of honour dress to "fit" into by 04th October 2021 (final weigh in day!), NOT "squeeze" into!! Wedding Day is 23rd October 2021 🎯
Right now I'm pushing towards a size 18. I'm 5 foot 2 inches (157.5cms), giving me get that unsexy look of weight being compressed sideways, hence the size 16 pushing into size 18. Full length mirrors are my worst friends right now.

I did restart my weight loss on January 04th this year (umpteenth time dieting) & weighed in at a whopping "206.4" lbs 🙈
(... for me? That's the heaviest I've EVER been in my life, I'm 50 this year!)
I've been on antidepressants since April 2020. This lockdown & homeschooling is pushing me to my limit. Stress is not a dieters best friend. It upends the bodies hormones, mostly cortisol. An emotional eater like me?! Snap! I literally EAT my stress. Throw in perimenopausal hormone upheaval & I have quite the brew of unfavourable disadvantages before me.
BUT
1. I refuse to allow myself to turn 50 feeling fat, unhealthy & emotionally more deflated than I already am!
2. I want to make myself proud, my children & my husband proud too!
3. I will NOT order a larger size dress for my sisters wedding.

Treadmill was ordered & arrives, hopefully 🙏, around the 11th/12th next week. Zero excuses for NOT getting that walk/jog/run in... Plus, I've got my vibroplate with the arm workout cords. A must for my bingo wings... Kids nearly wet their pants' when they watched my bottom in full wobble! I'm using my Samsung health app, which is synchronised with this app (FatSecret) & my galaxy active watch too (to keep an eye on heart rate, sleep & steps).

I'm eating keto, if interested, as I personally find this easier to follow & it suits my taste buds. I was following a keto based diet before Christmas 2020 & weighed about 189 lbs & was doing 2 x 24hr fasts (5:2). This I will be doing along side my keto plan.

~ I've followed 5:2 for weight loss & maintenance in the past, so it's "not" something new to my body & I feel good after the 2 days of full fasting...
My very first time doing 5:2 (5/6 yrs ago), I did Tuesday's & Thursday's, reducing my calories to 400-500 on those days & calorie counting the other 5 days. Over time, I've changed about days, calorie adjustments etc,. Personally, I found it easier to do 2 straight days drinking only water & black coffee. I take my hat off to those people who can do all that continuous calorie counting.

I broke my ketosis yesterday with 3 pieces of KFC chicken & chips. Aunt Flo was about & I succumbed to the smell 🤪
Back to it today... dreading the banging headaches again... yes, I take in electrolytes with loads of water (approx. 2+ ltrs). The hunger pangs will be worst, day 3/4 for me but after that hump, I find it mostly a doddle to follow keto.

Now for my Keto TexMex with salad for dinner. I found this recipe on DietDoctor. Everyone in my household loves it. Although, they use a wrap with the meal & salad.
Tomorrow, Sunday, is a full fast day for me... bring on Monday breakfast 😋 Scrambled eggs & smoked salmon 😁
Enjoy the rest of your weekend peeps xxx

I'm a super heavy, emotional eater also. I have treadmill. don't make mistake of using it as wardrobe hanger....lol, son moved home and gym room had to go to grandchildren. so all my equip sits on top of wardrobe whilst treadmill in front. starring at me.....as I stare back at it . so I've taken to outdoor walks with sons dog for company and many a hill in any direction of my door. I know have no reason to quit as think near all dramas that could happen have... I pray so anyway.... so if u need a buddy on your journey. happy to run along besides. (mentally anyway). I did it once to walk daughter down aisle, this time it's all for me....

Thanks Dave 10.. I certainly have the motivation, feels like my head is in the right place. Thank you xx Pawz70, it is crazy how many people eat their feelings. I do have to admit it was not really something I did till after I had kids, then I was unable to just get up & go away from issue or go sort issue. I've a friend with no kids & she's ever been like that... can't blame my kids! 🤣 I do have my rottweiler who's to be walked daily but I stroll. Had picked up pace prior to Christmas, then lost motivation for speed. But am going to start that again, speed walk the dog, not dragging my heels. He can do his 2nd run on the treadmill 🙈 And thank you, I can do with a mental-buddy. Will hopefully keep on top of physical effort, it's the eating. I've the willpower of a 4 yr old in a sweetshop 🤣🤣🤣 xx

Felt like I was reading my own journal for a moment there...I too suffer bad health and stress is something I can no longer handle. It took a nervous breakdown a couple of years ago and hitting rock bottom for me to realise my limits. During lockdown I managed to go from 18 tablets a day to 1 a day for my thyroid and have not had any panic attacks. I do realise that I am in a bubble and not living 'real life' or having the same stresses and might struggle later. For me, it's all about routing and meditation. The slightest difference to my routine knocks my sleeping, eating and exercise which in turn affects my mood&mental/physical health. I use Insight Timer app free from Google Play and do my meditations every day to keep my mental health straight. I am up at 6am getting it done b4 my girl gets up and home school starts. I am asleep for 11 pm at the latest. You should give the app a try, it has relaxing music, hypnosis, meditations...puts u in the right head space to deal with the day and in turn stops u from 'eating feelings' ♥️♥️

@Bootylicious1.. Thanks for the tip about that app, will check it out during the week. You're doing very good keeping to a routine. Getting to sleep is where I struggle. It's harder these days with the lockdown. I've a friend who has anxiety & suffers panic attacks, she's thriving with these lockdown. She's feeling much better with lockdown. I've heard others with anxiety say the same but I'm convinced lockdown is the worst for people who suffer from depression or that way inclined. Losing weight is no walk in the park the best of times but, personally, I've hit the point of "enough is enough with the excuses!". Good luck with your weight loss journey xx

If it helps, I was a size 20 five and a half months ago, and yesterday I wore a pair of size 12 jeans. So it is TOTALLY doable. Will be cheering you on x

@JanusWoman... Five and half months ago you were a size 20? That's unreal! And fantastic! Blimey, what regime did you follow that worked for you? Food plan & exercise plan? I can do with all the inspiration I can do with inspiration to keep me on my toes & motivated to stay on course. Tips are very welcome too 😊

Yes, start of September I was, top and bottom size 20. I haven’t changed my exercise regime at all, I have done body pump 3 times a week for years, and at least 2 walks, so is all diet. I started with 2 weeks on 800 cals high protein low carb, then since then, except over xmas, I’ve done 5:2 with two days of 800 cals. I usually do 1900 cals Fri/Sat which feels like loads and allows cake or a take out or wine, whatever, and 1400 other days, so the weekly average is under 1400. Mixing it up like that works for me and keeps focus and motivation without feeling restrictive. Steering clear of processed carbs keeps my blood sugar and cravings under control.I’ve lost 3 stone in weight and it’s amazing to me now to look back, September isn’t so long ago and the change us huge. You can do it too!

@JanusWoman .. thank you. I remember years ago being told, weight loss happens in the kitchen, while exercise keeps muscles & bones healthy. Clearly that's true for you too. I can wait to be able to look in my full length mirror with confidence again. A massive well done xx
