It's been awhile whole food.....this is Kathryn from Independence.....know what you mean about the steroids....I have had the same experience with them and am really happy I haven't had to take them recently.....hope you get to feeling better and those Royals are on a streak.....wrote them off for awhile, but I am back on the wagon.....as my son says....I am a "fair weather" fan....good luck getting back to where you want to be :)

Kathryn, I'm also in Independence, not far from Truman Library. I haven't been on here too much as I've been spending much time learning about raising chickens and how to build a chicken coop. Was up at the Sat. farmer's market this am and then went to Frye Produce on 24 HIWAY later for more veggies. Too bad most of the Royals games are not televised without paying for sports channels. Loving this weather after all the hot and drenching the other day. Spending this afternoon working on chicken coop.

Glen, I figure at least an 8 pound bump when they put me on additional steroids. I take them everyday but not in that dosage. I think that is why 1400 calories average is a good maint. goal for me. Just means watching closer and it will go back in line pretty quickly. Would love to get off the dang things someday.

Good luck with the chickens.....know your weather has been miserable....so has ours in Iowa....couple of days now, it's been pretty nice, but see we are in for more heat and humidity next week.....are you raising the kind of chickens Martha Stewart talks about??? She talks about her blue eggs and think she has other colors also...we are now in the full swing of tomatoes and green peppers and cucumbers.....just takes time to deal with those.....I used to pay for Royals games until I discovered that I can get them on FSKC.....for nothing....try and take it easy.....know as I get older, I need more break time in between chores....:-)

Independence Iowa? 3 of my chicks are Easter Eggers that should lay different colored eggs not sure what color until they start laying. 2 will have brown eggs. FSKC is free? I'll have to try to find it. It said the game was on that last night but I skimmed through all my channels and it wasn't on. My peppers and tomatoes were rather anemic there for awhile with all the rain earlier in the year so are a bit behind, cukes I think were washed away. Bought some today. Tis still a bit humid out there with the "steam" from the wet ground it's about 85 out. Waiting for paint to dry, one more side of trim pieces to paint and I put up the rest of the trim.

No Independence, Missouri.....went to High School with one of the Truman relatives....he was helpful in history class....yes FSKC is free.....we have direct t.v. which I am only partially liking.....be careful and don't overdo if your humidity is still high...we've had two days of low humidity....lovin that, but don't think it's going to last....chicken coop sounds like quite a project....have a good rest of the weekend :)

I'm guessing you moved to Iowa from here. Slower going than I had hoped on the coop as I forgot I hadn't cut and painted all the pieces I still need. So have been waiting on paint to dry. Being a bit lazy in between.
