The day has got colder here since I first got up. It's very bright and clear though so a walk around the village might happen later

Super drop, Heidi! I weigh everyday but generally report here on Tuesdays and Fridays. It seems to help me keep on track. Enjoy your walk 🙂

Wow nice drop Heidi, well done!

Going for Wednesdays or Thursdays is good, for me at least. It allows time to be a bit bad at weekends and then make amends before weighing in!

Just realised I haven't said "well done"! I weigh daily to avoid the panic of fluctuations and look at the trends

Great loss. I weigh every day but only log here on a Friday (usually). My daily weights go into TrendWeight.com.

Sounds like a good plan! I think I'm going to log my weight on Tuesdays and Fridays. Should have done it today, but don't want to get ticked off or bummed out if it hasn't budged. Friday I will do it for sure.

Thanks for you ideas, folks. I do weigh daily, log it in a spreadsheet, and generally take an average of two or three days when I post weight here to smooth things out, but still it's annoying when it's always higher on a Monday then a Tuesday. So I think I will try something different. I might play it by ear a bit. It's going to be a bit haywire for the next 10 days or so anyway.

My weighs tend to be less on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I guess we are recovering from the weekend meals. When you do your spreadsheet, does it calculate for you your total calories for the week and adjust them for you everyday?

I update my spreadsheet every morning with the previous day's calories in and out, and the weight that morning. I pre-fill it with the values I would like to see, and then when I update it, the totals tell me how I'm doing, and I can adjust the remaining pre-filled values for the week so that I can see what I need to do to correct it, if I want to. However, I mostly only check that I'm getting a reasonable calorie deficit over the week. I'm not terribly concerned about losing x weight in x time, as long as I'm trending downwards slowly. A deficit over time of about 3500 calories will result in a 1lb weight loss for most people, including myself. I'm quite happy to have a smaller weekly deficit and take two or three weeks to lose a pound. I don't worry too much about going over my RDI once or twice a week, but I do try and not let my calorie intake for the day go higher than my calorie expenditure for the day, well, not too often, anyway. It's been a long-term objective to get here, 18 months to lose about 40 pounds, but it's not like I get here, and now it's finished. It's going to be a life-long job to stay here, so it doesn't matter how long it took to get here.

I don't know how to make a spread sheet. You are so clever. I will just keep tracking my food on MyFitnessPal and let that guide me.

Heidi I'm the same. Took me almost a year to lose 22 lbs but that's fine. It took me a hell of a lot of years to put the pounds on. I don't get why some people are in such a hurry to lose a lot of weight (unless it's for crucial health reasons, of course). This is a great site for encouraging other members to stick with thier diet. We can all get there in the end 🙂
