heidij123's Journal, 16 Oct 15

Arrived at Spanish home yesterday, after 9 days of travelling and fairly random eating, and we went out for an indulgent meal last night. Now using a different weighing scale, and not sure how close it weighs to the one in England. I think it may be a little kinder!

Lots to do in the next couple of days, cleaning, doing laundry, unpacking. Also grocery shopping, which is going to be slightly challenging. I had got used to buying certain things in England. Here it's all a bit different, so I'll have to work it all out again. Part of the fun of living in two places, I guess!

Hope so! More socialising here though, so there can be more temptations! I get I'll have to start practising saying 'no thanks' some more, lol.

At least the weather should allow you more opportunities for outdoor exercise than had you stayed home (I'm assuming) :) . . . I know how being 'thrown off' your normal routine/schedule (such as with limited/different food choices) can be annoying, but I also think it's kind of cool that your 'lifestyle' makes even grocery shopping 'an adventure and discovery' on occasion!

Glad you made it safely. You'll get into a routine quickly enough. It's good to splurge on the diet every now and then, it resets the metabolism.

Thanks all for your good wishes and encouragement! And yes, it will be easier to exercise outdoors here. Mike and I have been talking about walks we can do here, and possible cycle routes, although a lot of the area is too hilly for me to cycle!

@Glen, did you have to buy extra warm clothes for your trip? I remember visiting friends in the north of England in the winter time, and always taking an extra layer to wear on top of my normal winter clothes!
