Nikina70's Journal, 08 Oct 21

Very happy with the scale today considering that I weighed 69.6 last Friday. Last week I didn't track calories from Wednesday to Sunday and took a nice 'end of the month' break. This week I've started four weeks of steady calorie counting and sticking to 3 x 40min strength workouts per week. At least 6,000 steps a day was part of the equation, but this week it's just not happened.

Only walked once this week and I'm kinda ok with that - it is what it is. I might bring back some jump rope or other cardio workouts if I feel the need and if the weather continues to be wet and unpredictable. We are hoping to do a nice long canal-side walk again this weekend possibly on Sunday so I'll look forward to that.

I've been able to keep my protein to about 70g a day so not sure what that will be at the end of the week as I've only budgeted to have protein powder on week days to make it last longer. Will have some meat free burgers this weekend so hopefully the protein count on those will be good.

Didn't do any IF this week - just wanted my oats in the morning and I think planning and having a solid low calorie dinner helps alot. Also had my evening snacks planned out and ate them at a certain time so I didn't want anything else. Water intake is not great, but rooibos tea does help when it's colder.

This week I had a craving for turkish delight and finally found some at Sainsbury's. Had some in the week and, boy, is it high in calories! It was also a bit too sweet for my taste and hubby agreed, but we will enjoy some more over the weekend and then hopefully I'll be ok not having any for a while again. He was eating this delicious smelling thing called McVitie's Lyle's Golden Syrup Sticky Pudding Cake - and he had it with custard too. On the pack it says 9 servings, but he had it over 4 nights. I just knew that if I went there I would not be happy with myself so told myself just smelling it was enough - and it amazingly was. As someone on here said again this week (Kate Moss's quote) - nothing tastes as good as skinny feels. I would change that to as healthy feels, but yeah. And, if he buys it again I will definitely have a slice then.

This week was just an important start to get back on track. I'm not expecting this loss to stick right away, but hoping to get down to a steady 68kg and lower this month. It is so slow for me these days, but I'll stick with it. Hoping I can keep it up because hubby's birthday is next week and I will buy a chocolate cake to celebrate. At least that will be Thursday to Sunday's problem - so the start of the week can still be focused.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend! Keep at it! We're getting there!!!

Aah, thanks Mermee! It seems to be all done and dusted, but every time my phone beeps I imagine there'll be some urgent catastrophe. All should be fine though. The event they're getting ready for is on the 23rd and everything is at the printers in SA now so I have no control over anything. Once that date is gone I'll feel I can rest easy. Nice to have a bit of a break now though and hope you will have one soon too - although with Christmas approaching I'm guessing not! Hope there is lots of fun in between though! xxx
