Chestnut - don't beat yourself up- over it. Move on and think 'today is a new day'. Do what you can, when you can and forget any day which doesn't go according to plan. Missed seeing you commenting on here!

No you're not chesty !!! Just don't ask if I have been following diet recently...... The answer is no I haven't - feel guilty - yep - but not letting it get me down as too many other things to worry about right now so I refuse to add to the stress levels by panicking. Stick with it buddy - we are here for you - you know that.

Chestnut, please don't do this to yourself. Be as kind and forgiving to yourself as you are to others. you have encouraged me in the past even when I made a right a**e of things. You need to be as kind as that to yourself. Every day is a new beginning. Get up, brush off the dirt, adjust your crown and move on ☺🤗 I believe in you. Please believe in yourself 😘

Take a leaf from Fred Astaire in "Swing Time" (no I dont mean get your dancing shoes on...) - or perhaps you would like a change and be Ginger Rogers..."Nothing's impossible I have found, For when my chin is on the ground, I pick myself up, Dust myself off, Start all over again. Don't lose your confidence if you slip, Be grateful for a pleasant trip, And pick yourself up, Dust yourself off, Start all over again. I'm not going to sing it cos it would only make everyone cry! Hi Helen - welcome to FS World! You will find a lot of people on here to give you support and encouragement as well as having some fun along the way. It's always good to make light of things! When it comes to how many calories your are 'allowed' the usual thinking was always 2500 for men and 2000 for women - MORE discrimination I am afraid. However more recently it seems to be around 2000 each. When I am being good I try to stick to somewhere between 1200-1500 and then I find the weight does reduce. At the end of the day it's a case of how much you burn off during the day - so someone who is very active is likely to burn more calories than a couch potato. I always think it is best to set a 'reasonable' level and see how you get one. That way, if you find you are eating enough and starting to get a bit of weight loss you can try reducing it further and see how you get along. From my experience, I would say don't expect great results instantly cos weight loss which will stay off is a gradual process BUT never get disheartened if you have a 'bad' day or don't lose weight at the rate you hope/want. At the risk of seeming trite, 'Rome wasn't built in a day', and it has taken me YEARS to get this lovely cuddly figure and I am not going to shake it off overnight. Hope this helps and all you need do is ask questions and I am sure many people will give comments about their own experiences. The thing to remember is that you are not alone and others will have had many experiences you have along their own journey.

Helen - any time you want to start your own comments - look for 'My Journal' on the menu and then click 'write an entry' and you can sound off about whatever you like, have a moan or ask questions. Chris

No point beating yourself up over it. It’s part of life. we fall and dust ourselves off and move on and try better next time until we get there. No point stressing over it. Plus life is to short. make the most of what makes you happy. 🌺🌻
