JockoT's Journal, 14 Oct 17

Had a nasty shock today. We bought a fancy Quiche for today's lunch, intending it to be for 4. However, plans changed, so we just divided it between us. It wasn't very big, but when I came to record the calories there were 410 Kcals in each quarter. So lunch was 820 Kcals! Ouch!!

Pastry is best avoided altogether - as delicious as it is. I love quiche too unfortunately.

Amazing when we pay attention to calories. How do they fit so many in every bite?

I feel that pain. It's like me with Pies, being Scottish and almost brought up on them, I love them. I usually manage the temptation but occasionally fall of the wagon and feel a bit guilty for a little while. It's done now so don't worry about it too much. Did you enjoy the Quiche?

Pies. I love pies. Our local baker has won prizes for their Scotch pies, and one is never enough. At 440 Kcals each it kind of messes up your daily intake!

I wish I could get a decent Scotch Pie down here. 440 Kcals I could live with occasionally.
